This research presents a review of the scientific literature published between 2019 and 2025 on the impact of stress, anxiety, and depression, which have emerged as critical factors affecting the job performance of workers in organizations within the service sector. The research was conducted through a scoping review guided by the methodological framework of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and reported in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). Clearly defined inclusion and exclusion criteria were established for the academic articles consulted. The literature search was conducted in three specialized databases: PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Scopus, using structured Boolean search strings incorporating controlled vocabulary from MeSH and DeCS. Following a systematic screening process, 79 articles were included for full analysis and data extraction from a total of 2,604 records initially identified. These studies comprised empirical research with cross-sectional, longitudinal, qualitative, and mixed-methods designs, as well as systematic reviews with meta-analyses, and originated from 25 countries. The findings indicate that stress was the most frequently examined variable (n = 46), followed by anxiety (n = 40) and depression (n = 29). Reported prevalence rates among healthcare workers reached critical levels, with occupational stress affecting up to 52.5% and anxiety affecting up to 55.8% of workers in pandemic contexts. These conditions were consistently associated with negative performance indicators, including increased absenteeism, presenteeism, counterproductive work behaviors, and reduced productivity. The COVID-19 pandemic acted as a catalyst that exacerbated these dynamics, whereas factors such as emotional intelligence, organizational support, and multicomponent interventions demonstrated protective effects on psychological well-being and job performance.
