Objective: To identify the risk factors, prevalence, and intervention strategies for nonspecific low back pain among open-pit mining workers based on scientific literature published between 2020 and 2025. Methodology: A systematic literature review with narrative synthesis was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The search was performed in PubMed, Scopus, and ScienceDirect using MeSH/DeCS descriptors related to low back pain, mining, and occupational risk factors. Studies were selected according to the PICOS criteria, and their methodological quality was assessed using the STROBE and PRISMA checklists, according to the design of each study. Due to the heterogeneity of the included studies, a meta-analysis was not feasible. Results: The review identified a high prevalence of low back pain among mining workers, with reported rates exceeding 50% for the lumbar region and a high frequency of musculoskeletal disorders. The main risk factors identified were whole-body vibration, prolonged or awkward postures, extended working hours, and psychosocial factors, particularly occupational stress. Intervention strategies were primarily focused on ergonomic measures, although evidence regarding their effectiveness remains limited. Conclusion: Nonspecific low back pain in open-pit mining is a multifactorial occupational health problem that requires comprehensive preventive strategies within the framework of Occupational Safety and Health, incorporating interventions targeting both physical and psychosocial factors and strengthening the scientific evidence on effective interventions in this context.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Diseño de una herramienta tecnológica para el reporte e inspecciones en seguridad y salud en el trabajo para la empresa SI Nova Gestión S.A.S(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-08-26) Castañeda Castañeda, Leandra María; Alcázar Sosa, Sheyla Vanessa; Medina Romaña, Yiner Yair; Pinzón Alfonso, Rafael Humberto; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001599619; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002460457; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001811946; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002504698; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0010-8762; https://orcid.org/0009-0000-6113-6444; https://orcid.org/0009-0005-8130-1853; https://orcid.org/0009-0004-3312-7355This research aims to design a technological tool to optimize the reporting and inspection processes related to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) at SI Nova Gestión SAS, contributing to the strengthening of preventive management and improving the efficiency, traceability, and control of information associated with the Occupational Safety and Health Management System. The research followed a descriptive correlational approach with a longitudinal design, based on secondary institutional data obtained from the Psychosocial Risk Assessment Battery, the Employee Experience Survey (EX Survey), and administrative absenteeism records. Methodologically, descriptive, comparative, and correlational analyses were conducted, complemented by a qualitative interpretative component aimed at contextualizing the findings. Variables related to absenteeism frequency, severity, and recurrence were examined, along with psychosocial risk indicators, stress levels, and employee satisfaction measures. The results showed that absenteeism is a multifactorial phenomenon, mainly associated with musculoskeletal disorders, respiratory illnesses, and stress-related symptoms. A reduction in absenteeism recurrence was observed, as well as improvements in psychosocial risk levels and protective workplace conditions. Additionally, employee satisfaction levels demonstrated a positive trend over the study period. However, the exploratory correlational analysis indicated that the relationship between psychosocial factors and absenteeism is not strictly linear, suggesting the influence of additional clinical and contextual variables. Therefore, absenteeism due to common illness cannot be explained solely by workplace conditions. It is concluded that the implementation of comprehensive well-being strategies, including stress management, leadership strengthening, ergonomic interventions, and health promotion initiatives, contributes to reducing psychosocial risks and improving the organizational climate. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of adopting evidence-based preventive management models to support decision-making in occupational health, human resource management, and organizational sustainability.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Propuesta guía metodológica primer contacto de seguridad y salud en el trabajo para la educación media en la ciudad de Bogotá(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-05-05) Jiménez Morales, Heidy Angélica; González Romero, Oscar Fabián; Flórez Balvin, Dayana; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001769454; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002405985; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0937-3618; https://orcid.org/0009-0008-6280-940XThis undergraduate thesis, entitled “Proposal for a Methodological Guide: FIRST CONTACT WITH OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH for Upper Secondary Education in the City of Bogotá,” arises from a concern raised by students Heidy Jiménez and Oscar González regarding why it is necessary to wait until the beginning of working life to establish contact with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). This issue is often overlooked due to a lack of awareness on the part of both employers and employees, despite being a highly relevant aspect of the employment relationship. Such neglect can drastically change the context of an organization or the life of a worker and their family if an occupational accident (OA) or an occupational disease (OD) were to occur. For this reason, the study proposes introducing OSH to upper secondary education students directly from the classroom environment, with the aim of identifying their perceptions, knowledge, and expectations regarding OSHTipo de ítem: Ítem , Condiciones de salud y trabajo de los empleados de restaurante bar la casa del Marisco(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-04-29) Rivera Matta, Ana Bella; Rivera Matta, Angie Rivera; Monroy Silva, Magda Viviana; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000003418; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002438233; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002406531; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=1-B7hJgAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6185-5999; https://orcid.org/0009-0002-1957-1172; https://orcid.org/0009-0002-4838-0033This research aimed to analyze the occupational health and safety conditions of employees at the restaurant-bar La Casa del Marisco through the identification and assessment of occupational risks associated with their activities. This study, developed using a mixed approach, integrates documentary analysis and field perception gathering to evaluate the application of current regulations and existing gaps in the implementation of the National Mining Safety Policy in small-scale coal mines in the Andean Region. Based on the diagnosis obtained, a behavioral change management strategy is formulated, aimed at strengthening occupational safety and health practices through training, awareness-raising, and inter-institutional coordination. As a main result, the research proposes a comprehensive model that harmonizes technical and legal guidelines with actual operating conditions, contributing to the reduction of accidents and the strengthening of a culture of prevention. The discussion highlights that behavioral change and effective coordination among sector actors are decisive factors in achieving sustainable progress in mining safety.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Factores de riesgo laborales asociados al síndrome de Burnout en los profesionales de salud que laboran en la IPS Salud Integral y Consultoría SAS(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-04-16) Hernández Sánchez, Melbi Yolanda; Pinto Pinilla, Daniela; Taborda Morales, Natalia; Monroy Silva, Magda Viviana; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000003418; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002438624; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002438626; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=1-B7hJgAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6185-5999; https://orcid.org/0009-0004-4034-5617; https://orcid.org/0009-0002-3398-0220“This study examined the work-related factors associated with burnout syndrome among healthcare professionals working at the IPS Salud Integral y Consultoría SAS.
