Traducción y adaptación transcultural de un cuestionario sobre la satisfacción del paciente con tratamiento de ortodoncia

Abstract

Introduction: the satisfaction of patients with orthodontic treatment is related to the participation and compliance with the same. Objective: To the translation and cross-cultural adaptation of Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire, questionnaire used by Bos and collaborators. Methodology and results: diagnostic technology assessment study which was carried out the translation, retrotraduccion and adaptation of the items in the following stages first was the instrument of the original language translation to Spanish by two translators officers, then he was the retrotraduccion to english, comparison of the retrotraduccion with the original version, evaluation of the relevance , semantics and the permanence of the 58 items of the version in spanish by 14 experts in orthodontics, after then the evaluation of the relevance, semantics and the permanence of the 58 items by 35 patients which completed orthodontic treatment, who were mostly women (65.7%), stratum 3 (54.3%) and students (54.3%) and finally the research team discussed the findings and developed the final version of the questionnaire of satisfaction of patients with orthodontic treatment in spanish in which some terms were changed to obtain equivalent expressions in 17 items and were eliminated six items Conclusion: was a questionnaire on satisfaction with orthodontic treatment containing 52 items distributed in six dimensions.
