There are few studies on the possible influence of biological maturation on the physical performance of youth tennis players, (Myburgh et al., 2016 a; 2016 b) among the physical demands of field tennis we find anaerobic tasks such as power, speed and agility. (Gallo-Salazar et al., 2018; Fernandez-Fernandez et al., 2018; 2016; Kovacs, 2007). Being this a topic of great importance at present for the identification of sports talent (Johnston, 2018; Malina, 2014; Kramer et al., 2017 a), this study aims to compare the effect of biological maturation on morphological characteristics. and the result of specific anaerobic protocols related to tennis performance, based on a sample of 200 tennis players from the Colombian national youth ranking category sub-12 and sub 14. The assessment of biological maturation will be carried out by analyzing a standard radiograph. wrist and hand to estimate skeletal age using the TW3 method (Tanner et al., 2001) in addition to the evaluation of somatic maturation, by growth curves (Mirwald et al., 2002). The battery of physical tests that will be applied are: 5m, 10m, agility 10x5m, spider test, Counter Movement Jump CMJ and Repeated Sprint Ability RSA 10x20m. In the RSA 10x20 test, a sample of lactate utilization will be taken at the end of the test and heart rate variability kits (ZephyrTM performance systems) will be used 5 minutes before, during and 5 minutes after the test, to assess the autonomic nervous system. Finally, a descriptive statistic will be carried out for the total sample (mean, standard deviation, standard error of measurement, 95% confidence interval), and an analysis of covariance ANCOVA (Chronological age as covariant to compare sex, morphological differences, age skeletal and anaerobic physical tests) using the Statistical Program for Social Sciences SPSS version 24 and the resulting graphs in the graphpad Prism version 5 program.spa
