Abstract

The following document shows in detail the activities carried out during the internship for obtaining the degree of Civil Engineer.

This exercise was carried out in the city of Chiquinquirá Boyacá, in the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Valuation in order to support this agency with the following activities; technical visits requested by citizens, topographic surveys and review of calculation memories of works.

This practice was specifically based on works of tertiary roads in the different villages of the municipality of Chiquinquirá with the purpose of recovering the road bank affected by the current winter wave.

For this management yellow machinery was used such as: "backhoe, motor grader, dump trucks and vibro compactor"; It was compacted with topsoil material which was duly inspected by the undersigned giving as an option the one from the quarry of the municipality of Simijacá. The respective drainage ditches were arranged; the latter were made with a minimum inclination to prevent the force of the water from deteriorating the intervened road again; the cleaning of culverts that allow the water to flow. The repair of parks and avenues that were in poor condition was supported under the supervision of the intern; public works workers of the mayor's office and the community.

Visits were made at the request of the community to give a technical concept to these requests. Where the following problems were presented: "lack of gabions, non-existence of retaining walls, poor drainage and sewers).

As evidence of the work assigned, a technical form was submitted to the Secretary of Infrastructure and Valorization, where the needs of the works for the adequacy of the roads were reported to this agency.
