This study aimed to analyze the impact of implementing a narrative-based flipped classroom methodology on students’ motivation and meaningful learning of French as a foreign language in tenth-grade students at Colegio San Viator in Tunja. The study was conducted under a mixed-methods approach, framed within a participatory action research design, over the course of two academic periods. The participants engaged with digital and narrative resources differentiated according to their proficiency levels in French (A1, A2, and B1). Data collection instruments included surveys, semi-structured interviews, field journals, and pedagogical activities, allowing for both quantitative and qualitative analysis of students’ motivation, participation, and learning perceptions. The findings revealed a significant increase in students’ intrinsic motivation, greater active participation, and enhanced learner autonomy. In addition, the use of narrative texts as a central component of the strategy supported the contextualization of linguistic content and facilitated meaningful learning. The study concludes that a narrative-based flipped classroom approach is a relevant and effective pedagogical strategy for teaching French in school contexts, as it fosters motivation, autonomy, and meaningful learning among students.
