Physical exercise is commonly used as primary treatment or as an adjunct to pharmacological therapy, presenting promising results that show the attenuation of cardiometabolic risk factors Aim: Describe the effects of isometric training and the association of Maximum Voluntary Isometric Contraction (MCIV) on vascular function of subjects with cardiometabolic risk factors, through a topic review. Methodology: A bibliographic search was carried out in PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and Science direct, for controlled clinical trials, observational, cross-sectional studies or systematic reviews, published in English, Portuguese and Spanish, which evaluated arterial stiffness parameters and included strength as evaluation or treatment. Isometric analysis of subjects presenting at least one diagnostic criterion for metabolic syndrome. Results: From the 69 articles found, three met the inclusion criteria. All the documents analyzed included the hypertensive population; one of them showed an indirect association between the MCIV, the arterial stiffness index and the increase rate to 75%. Another evidenced a decrease in blood pressure without changes in vascular function after isometric grip strength training. Conclusion: The evidence that describe the effects of isometric training and the association of MCIV on vascular function is scarce. The literature analyzed shows a relationship between the condition of Handgrip and peripheral arterial stiffness parameters in subjects with hypertension. Isometric training probably do not improve the vascular condition on hypertensive subjects.spa
