Abstract

This paper analyzes, from an innovative perspective, the pedagogical model of Universidad Santo Tomás and its social, cultural, and scientific background, which has evolved throughout the twenty-first century. The Thomistic perspective seeks a balance between scientific development and modern humanistic principles. Consequently, Universidad Santo Tomás has undergone a comprehensive development process aimed at advancing both technologically and morally. Furthermore, the cultural and social events throughout the country’s history have led the institution to reinvent itself on more than one occasion in order to present a cutting-edge model to its students and administrators. The paper addresses innovation and digital technologies in the field of education. Likewise, it highlights the teacher’s role as a facilitator of knowledge, fostering critical thinking among students. Similarly, it analyzes the risks of misinformation in a globalized world governed by digital media, emphasizing the importance of verifying both personal and public data before accepting it as true. Moreover, the model examined encourages readers to develop learning based on interculturality, inclusion, and respect for different customs, religions, and beliefs. As a result, individuals can make significant progress in their personal and academic development. The paper also emphasizes awareness of environmental protection and the need to promote ideas aimed at preserving natural resources and places. Finally, the document encourages academics and teachers to educate well-rounded, ethical, and critical individuals who are able to function effectively in today's society.
