Abstract

The Argentinean village, located in the municipality of Villavicencio, presents a high degree of territorial vulnerability due to the inefficiency of the current containment measures against the overflowing of the Guatiquía river. This risk condition has highlighted the need for an integral intervention with an architectural and territorial approach that goes beyond emerging solutions and proposes a structural reconfiguration of the habitat in the face of natural hazards. The absence of adequate urban planning has led to a disorganized occupation of the land, characterized by an inefficient arrangement of housing and public spaces, which has hindered the sustainable and resilient development of the community. In this context, the project proposes a comprehensive resettlement design that responds to both environmental conditions and the socio-spatial needs of the affected population. The proposal is conceived as an opportunity to configure a new urban-rural fabric, structured on the basis of an efficient layout, a functional distribution of land uses and a network of public spaces that fosters social cohesion and community organization. The architectural approach focuses on improving the quality of life of the inhabitants through the design of decent housing units, adequate social infrastructure and collective facilities.
