Abstract

The objective of this research is to understand the construction of leadership based on social relations in Nurses of Critical Medicine at the Departmental Hospital of Villavicencio. It was carried out under the qualitative method, oriented to carry out systemic-complex reading of the leadership that is constructed from the social relations. Likewise, it is positioned in a hermeneutic perspective, with an explicit interest in addressing the meanings that emerge from leadership, which are constructed and configured in the social relationships The focus group, the non-directive interview and the network mapping were the strategies that allowed data collection. The triangulation of data was the strategy to validate the systematized results in matrices of transcriptions and categories. The population was selected by means of a non-probabilistic sampling for convenience or opportunity. Among the important findings to be highlighted, it is possible to understand that social networks represent a predominantly functionality based on the support of materials and services, given the daily nature of their work which requires reciprocal support to meet organizational objectives, in this way the constructions that emerge around the leadership are permeated with meanings related to the daily life of the performed tasks, likewise the constructions of the leadership are permeated with meanings coming from the culture and organizational structure where the role of the leader is given to the headships given the nature of its function and the hierarchical structure of the position, favoring a linear leadership coming from the figure of the leader towards the members.
