El presente proyecto de grado propone el diseño arquitectónico de una unidad integral de vivienda productiva cafetera para caficultores ubicada en la Finca Guayacanes, vereda Clavellinas, en el municipio de Aratoca, Santander. La caficultura representa un pilar económico y social fundamental en esta región, vinculando de manera directa a cuatro de cada diez de sus habitantes. No obstante, las condiciones de habitabilidad actuales presentan fuertes deficiencias, principalmente porque las viviendas no fueron diseñadas para integrar de manera armónica el espacio residencial con los requerimientos técnicos de la actividad productiva. Esta desarticulación espacial obliga a los agricultores a destinar áreas domésticas de forma improvisada para el secado y almacenamiento del grano, lo cual disminuye la eficiencia del proceso, compromete la seguridad laboral y vulnera las condiciones higiénico-sanitarias del hogar. Para dar respuesta a esta fricción histórica entre el habitar y el producir, el proyecto tiene como objetivo articular eficientemente la vocación habitacional y la infraestructura de procesamiento del café, contemplando además la posible integración de dinámicas complementarias como el turismo y el comercio rural. El diseño se fundamenta en criterios de adaptación territorial, incorporando el uso de materiales locales para minimizar el consumo energético y reducir el impacto ambiental. En conclusión, la propuesta busca consolidar un modelo arquitectónico integral que optimice las labores agrícolas sin sacrificar la privacidad familiar, fortaleciendo el arraigo campesino y brindando una solución contemporánea, funcional y digna a las realidades del caficultor santandereano en el siglo XXI.
Abstract
The present degree project proposes the architectural design of a productive housing for coffee farmers located in Finca Guayacanes, Clavellinas village, in the municipality of Aratoca, Santander. Coffee cultivation represents a fundamental economic and social pillar in this region, directly involving four out of ten of its inhabitants. However, the current living conditions present significant deficiencies, mainly because the houses were not designed to harmoniously integrate the residential space with the technical requirements of the productive activity. This spatial disarticulation forces farmers to allocate improvised domestic areas for drying and storing the grain, which decreases the efficiency of the process, compromises labor safety, and undermines the hygienic and sanitary conditions of the home.
To address this historical friction between living and producing, the project aims to efficiently articulate the residential vocation and the coffee processing infrastructure, also considering the possible integration of complementary dynamics such as tourism and rural commerce. The design is based on criteria of territorial adaptation, incorporating the use of local materials to minimize energy consumption and reduce environmental impact. In conclusion, the proposal aims to consolidate a comprehensive architectural model that optimizes agricultural work without sacrificing family privacy, strengthening rural roots and providing a contemporary, functional, and dignified solution to the realities of the Santander coffee farmer in the 21st century.
