El presente artículo reflexiona sobre la importancia que tiene la antropología teológica para mediar por el equilibrio entre la relación de Dios, el hombre y la naturaleza. Esto, porque el mundo contemporáneo enfrenta una crisis medio ambiental causada por el hombre y su afán desmedido de producción y desgasto ambiental. Lo anterior, ha quebrado la relación armoniosa del ser humano con la naturaleza descuidando al mismo tiempo el mandato de “cuidar y cultivar” dado por Dios. Para eso, en primer lugar, se analizan los aspectos de la teología de la creación que promueven el cuidado del medio ambiente. En segundo lugar, se propone el diálogo entre la antropología teológica y las ciencias, particularmente en torno al Big Bang y la evolución, lo que ofreció claves para el cuidado de la creación, al replantear la posición del ser humano en el universo, cuestionando el antropocentrismo y fomentando una relación más armónica con el medio ambiente. Finalmente, se profundiza en los horizontes para una ecología integral. Como resultado se tiene que desde la perspectiva de la antropología teológica es posible lograr el equilibrio entre el hombre y el medio ambiente. Así se cuestiona el antropocentrismo y, en su lugar, se propone una ecología integral en la que el hombre genera cambios en pro de una relación renovada con el resto de la creación.
Abstract
This article reflects on the importance of theological anthropology in mediating the balance between the relationship of God, humanity, and nature. This is particularly relevant given that the contemporary world faces an environmental crisis caused by human beings and their excessive drive for production and environmental exploitation. Such actions have broken the harmonious relationship between humanity and nature, while neglecting the divine mandate to “till and keep” creation. First, the article analyzes aspects of the theology of creation that promote care for the environment. Second, it proposes a dialogue between theological anthropology and the sciences—particularly concerning the Big Bang and evolution—which offers key insights for the care of creation by reconsidering the human place in the universe, challenging anthropocentrism, and fostering a more harmonious relationship with the environment. Finally, it delves into the horizons of an integral ecology. As a result, it is argued that from the perspective of theological anthropology, it is possible to achieve a balance between humanity and the environment. In doing so, anthropocentrism is questioned, and instead, an integral ecology is proposed in which human beings bring about changes that promote a renewed relationship with the rest of creation.
