Abstract

Located 5.7 kilometers east of the center of Neiva, capital of the department of Huila, on National Route 30, surrounded by mountains, depressions, large forests, urban areas in the process of construction and consolidation, in an agricultural and livestock region, it is finds RUBIK, a Cognitive Development Center, with spaces that promote the intellectual and behavioral growth of a vulnerable population with special needs, whose characteristic and category of focus for this proposal refers to intellectual disabilities and other alterations of the nervous system. The Project presents a series of volumes, interconnected, adapted to the topography, and existing environmental conditions, which respond to outdoor spaces, designed as flexible areas for stimulation and learning in the open air. The arrangement of the metal structure in the form of a tree, the terrace, the colorimetry of the building, and the application of sustainable strategies, contribute to the creation of internal spaces with ideal conditions of lighting, ventilation, comfort, and views of the landscape.
