La investigación tiene como objetivo principal evaluar el impacto del Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) entre Colombia y Canadá en el sector textil colombiano, utilizando una metodología de enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo, a través del análisis de la balanza comercial de ambos países en las partidas arancelarias de los capítulos 61 y 62 del universo arancelario y el desempeño del sector textil de Colombia en Canadá entre los años 2013 y 2023, con el propósito de identificar oportunidades comerciales dentro del sector y el impacto del tlc en el promedio de las exportaciones colombianas con destino canadiense, teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, se encontró que las exportaciones de Colombia a Canadá del sector textil son constantes año a año y crecen a medida que crecen las exportaciones totales entre ambos países, con variaciones negativas y positivas, reflejando el aprovechamiento del acuerdo en algunas partidas; así mismo, se identificaron bienes de oportunidad alta y moderada, destacándose en la oportunidad alta la ropa interior para hombres y mujeres, abrigos deportivos y fajas y sostenes para mujeres
Abstract
The main objective of the research is to evaluate the impact of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Colombia and Canada on the Colombian textile sector, using a quantitative and qualitative approach methodology, through the analysis of the trade balance of both countries in the tariff headings of chapters 61 and 62 of the tariff universe and the performance of the Colombian textile sector in Canada between 2013 and 2023, with the purpose of identifying commercial opportunities within the sector and the impact of the fTA on the average of Colombian exports to Canada, it was found that Colombian exports to Canada in the textile sector are constant year after year and grow as total exports between both countries grow, with negative and positive variations, reflecting the use of the agreement in some headings; Likewise, high and moderate opportunity goods were identified, highlighting in the high opportunity the underwear for men and women, sports coats and girdles and bras for women
