| spa |
dc.description.abstract | Acquiring the competence to make an adequate diagnosis of craniofacial growth and dental occlusion is a priority in the comprehensive training of Tomasino dentists, since they will be able to detect and intervene alterations in the primary and mixed dentition. Dentists with these basic concepts facilitate management and prioritize the preventive approach to malocclusions; which leads to offering more efficient treatments and with better resolution of the objectives. General dentists, when caring for the largest population of children and adolescents, must have this diagnostic competence. As a complement to the face-to-face classes of the academic space: Craniofacial I of the Pediatric Dentistry Area, sixth semester of Dentistry, this educational material is presented, seeking to reinforce the concepts of diagnosis and prevention in the early management of malocclusion; It is an educational material and a complement to the virtual classroom of the subject. The material is divided into three sections: Craniofacial Embryology, Occlusion Development, and Craniofacial Growth and Development. Each section consists of thematic units that are complemented with tasks, questionnaires and readings of articles available in the virtual classroom of the academic space where this resource will be found. The material is useful in the students' learning process and actively contributes to the achievement of skills in the area. | spa |
