Ciudad y formación: experiencias académicas entre arquitectura y urbanismo

Sea la investigación, relativa a la práctica modernista de la arquitectura y el urbanismo el hecho histórico relativo al quehacer de arquitectos y urbanistas, la plataforma para presentar un trabajo que es producto de la labor investigativa de docentes de las Facultades de Arquitectura e Ingeniería Civil de la Universidad Santo Tomás de Bucaramanga, en algunas oportunidades mancomunada con pares de otras prestigiosas instituciones, mediante la cual se llevaron a término cinco investigaciones relativas a la arquitectura, el urbanismo y la planificación del territorio, todas ellas recopiladas gracias al accionar de la Dirección de Investigación e Innovación. Los primeros cuatro aportes hacen parte de la producción del Grupo de Investigaciones de la Facultad de Arquitectura (GINVEARQUI), mientras que el último es producción de una docente de la hermana Facultad de Ingeniería Civil. En síntesis, una serie de capítulos provenientes de diferentes autores mediante los cuales se lleva al lector a pensar nuevamente en la cuestión del conocimiento de la arquitectura, la ciudad y el territorio y de las relaciones entre los diferentes componentes que allí se entrelazan, los cuales son la base para que un arquitecto, un ingeniero, un urbanista o un planificador esboce entornos que eleven la calidad de vida de la población. Sin duda, un esfuerzo de la academia para responder a las exigencias de una sociedad en la que se requiere del entrenamiento investigativo de sus estudiantes y docentes como estrategia fundamental para la producción Colección Contribuciones de Investigación de una riqueza intelectual que requiere diferentes tipos de vinculación y asociacionismos que van más allá de intereses lucrativos o simplemente de un compromiso académico.

Abstract

Let the investigation, relative to the modernist practice of architecture and urbanism, be the historical fact relative to the work of architects and urban planners, the platform to present a work that is the product of the investigative work of teachers of the Faculties of Architecture and Civil Engineering of the Universidad Santo Tomás de Bucaramanga, on some occasions jointly with peers from other prestigious institutions, through which five investigations related to architecture, urban planning and territorial planning were carried out, all of them compiled thanks to the actions of the Directorate of Research and Innovation. The first four contributions are part of the production of the Research Group of the Faculty of Architecture (GINVEARQUI), while the last one is produced by a teacher from the sister Faculty of Civil Engineering. In summary, a series of chapters from different authors through which the reader is led to think again about the question of knowledge of architecture, the city and the territory and the relationships between the different components that are intertwined there, which they are the basis for an architect, an engineer, an urban planner or a planner to sketch environments that raise the quality of life of the population. Undoubtedly, an effort by the academy to respond to the demands of a society in which the investigative training of its students and teachers is required as a fundamental strategy for the production of Research Contributions Collection of an intellectual wealth that requires different types of connection and associations that go beyond lucrative interests or simply an academic commitment.
