Abstract

The following thesis consist of designing a land transport terminal for the city of Aguachica starting from a technical and functional problem. Therefore, the design corresponds to a functional organization that identifies three large areas that structure the project in its entirety. Likewise, each loadbearing element of the building is designed according to the conditions and spatial and functional characteristics. For this purpose, the design is approached from rationalist and structuralist concepts. For the resolution of the technical problem, each part of the building’s load-bearing elements is designed, based on the premises and technical concepts for the execution of the load-bearing system. The building is located as an articulating axis in the middle of an important road system, in terms of connectivity for the city, the department and the country. Equally, its location is ideal due to the compatibility of complementary uses already established in the eastern area of the city. Articulating axes are proposed that allow the user to make use of neighboring buildings, which would promote the regeneration of a small sector and the constant pedestrian flow between the existing buildings and the new terminal.
