Resumen
El inglés es una lengua que en Colombia ha sido sinónimo de complejidad expresada por muchos estudiantes a quienes su comprensión y aprendizaje a veces se convierte en un proceso que genera miedo y ansiedad, situación en que en una zona rural donde el acceso a la educación y a los recursos tecnológicos es muy limitado, el aprendizaje del inglés se convierte en un privilegio, es decir, para aquellas personas que tienen la oportunidad de estudiar en universidades o instituciones educativas; De esta manera, la educación a distancia es una modalidad que representa una solución o una opción para las personas que viven en zonas rurales, que no tienen universidades en su ciudad y que necesitan dinero y tiempo para viajar hasta la ciudad más cercana. Sin embargo, estudiar inglés a través de una pantalla no es tan simple como parece, hay algunos factores que son parte del contexto social, familiar, cultural y económico de los estudiantes, que influyen y afectan a su proceso de aprendizaje, pero de cualquier manera estas situaciones y experiencias permiten a los estudiantes ser más autónomos y creativos para encontrar las estrategias necesarias para lograr los objetivos, y estas estrategias son el foco principal de mi tesis, una investigación narrativa que pertenece al subproyecto 3 del programa LLEI de la Universidad Santo Tomás, en el que a través de narrativas, un frame y un multimodal date, me permitió recopilar cada una de mis experiencias estudiando en modalidad a distancia, sintetizar, codificar y analizar la información, y de esta manera identificar cuales fueron aquellas estrategias que implementé en cada una de las situaciones difíciles en mi proceso de aprendizaje; así mismo, me permitió elaborar importantes conclusiones que hoy se convierten en una contribución al programa LLEI de la Universidad Santo Tomás y en general a estudiantes e instituciones educativas que trabajan bajo la modalidad distancia en Colombia.
Abstract
English is a language that in Colombia has been synonymous of complexity expressed by many students to whom their understanding and learning sometimes become in a process which generates fear and anxiety, situation that in a rural area where the Access to education and to technologic resources is very limited the English learning becomes in a privilege, that is, for those people whom have the chance of studying at Universities or in educative Institutions; In this way, the distance education is a modality which represent a solution or an option for people whom live in rural areas, whom haven’t in their town Universities and they need money and time to travel until the next city. However, studying English through of a screen is not so simple as it seems, there are some factors that are part of the social, family, cultural and economic context of students, which influence and affect their learning process, but of any way these situations and experiences allow to students be more autonomous and creative to find the necessary strategies in order to achieve the objectives, and these strategies are the main focus of my thesis, a narrative research which belongs to subproject 3 of the program LLEI of the Universidad Santo Tomás, in which through of narratives, a frame and a multimodal data, allowed me compile each one of my experiences studying at distance modality, synthesize, codify and analyze the information, and of this way identify which were those strategies that I implemented in each one of difficult situations in my learning process; likewise, allowed me elaborate important conclusions which become today in a contribution to LLEI program of the Universidad Santo Tomás and in general to students and educative institutions which work under the modality distance in Colombia.
