| dc.description.abstract | The report presents a competitive-intelligence monitoring and trend analysis exercise to support the creation of the Technology in Representation and Construction Processes program at Universidad Santo Tomás, Bucaramanga Campus. It defines the program’s educational purpose and its relevance in light of sector demand, with an emphasis on graphic representation, modeling, planning, and execution of works under digital and sustainability criteria. The methodology is framed as technology watch and competitive intelligence in accordance with UNE 166006:2018, supported by expert searches, data analysis and AI, and official sources (SNIES and OLE). In the results, 68 related technology programs are identified nationwide (only 3 with high-quality accreditation), revealing an opportunity to differentiate on the basis of quality and innovation. The OLE employability analysis reports an overall contribution rate of 71.39% (2019–2022) across comparable programs, an indicator that supports labor demand for the technologist profile in this area. The study synthesizes key trends that should guide the curriculum: Construction 4.0 (BIM 4D–7D, interoperability, AI applied to planning and control), new paradigms for execution (prefabrication/modularity, VR/AR for coordination), and cross-cutting sustainability (LEED/BREEAM certifications, low-impact materials, energy efficiency, and renewables). On this basis, the report concludes the proposal’s feasibility and relevance and provides guidelines for a competitive, results-oriented curriculum design. | |
