Intensive agriculture has led to the indiscriminate use of pesticides in recent decades, affecting ecosystems and ultimately human beings. Many of them are involved in the development of diseases that significantly affect health. In previous works, the researchers of the present project have studied the influence of resorcinarenes (macrocyclic molecules) and their effect on the activity of enzymes such as catalase, finding conformational changes that led to a decrease in the activity of the enzyme significantly. This work aims to study in vitro the effect that the interaction between resorcinarenes and common pesticides such as nicotine, glyphosate and amino methyl phosphonic acid (AMPA) may have on the integrity of human erythrocytes. For this, the erythrocytes will be subjected to contact with these molecules (incubation) and measurements of catalase activity, protein oxidation, antioxidant activity, stability of the prosthetic group and integrity will be carried out through microscopy. The results are intended to contribute to the knowledge of the impact of this type of molecule on human health and the potential of resorcinarenes as adjuvant or synergistic molecules in the interaction with pesticides.spa
