dc.descriptionEl presente informe final describe el proceso de formación investigativa desarrollado mediante la participación en el semillero de investigación GIEDAF, adscrito al programa de Cultura Física, Deporte y Recreación de la Universidad Santo Tomás Seccional Tunja, durante el periodo 2023-I a 2026-I. La experiencia permitió fortalecer competencias investigativas, metodológicas, técnicas y analíticas a través de la participación en proyectos de investigación, evaluaciones fisiológicas, actividades de laboratorio, trabajo de campo y escenarios de divulgación científica. Durante este proceso se adquirieron conocimientos y habilidades en el manejo de tecnologías aplicadas a las ciencias del ejercicio, como calorimetría indirecta, sistema metabólico portátil K5, electromiografía superficial, bioimpedancia, medición de lactato sanguíneo y herramientas para la evaluación del rendimiento físico. Asimismo, se participó en la formulación y ejecución de proyectos relacionados con flexibilidad metabólica, ejercicio físico en adultos mayores y fatiga inducida por entrenamiento en tenistas universitarios, además de la presentación de ponencias, pósteres científicos y productos académicos en eventos nacionales e internacionales. Los resultados evidencian un fortalecimiento integral del perfil profesional e investigativo, favoreciendo el desarrollo de habilidades para la investigación aplicada, el análisis crítico de evidencia científica, el trabajo interdisciplinario y la comunicación científica, consolidando la investigación como un eje fundamental para la formación profesional en el campo de la actividad física, el deporte y la salud.
dc.description.abstractThis final report describes the research training process developed through active participation in the GIEDAF Research Seedbed, affiliated with the Physical Activity and Health Promotion research line of the Physical Education, Sport, and Recreation program at Universidad Santo Tomás, Tunja Campus, between 2023-I and 2026-I. This experience contributed to the development of research, methodological, technical, and analytical competencies through involvement in research projects, physiological assessments, laboratory activities, fieldwork, and scientific dissemination. Throughout the training process, competencies were acquired in the use of specialized technologies applied to exercise science, including indirect calorimetry, the Cosmed K5 portable metabolic system, surface electromyography, bioelectrical impedance analysis, blood lactate assessment, and performance evaluation tools. In addition, participation included the design and implementation of research projects focused on metabolic flexibility, exercise interventions in older adults, and training-induced fatigue in collegiate tennis players, as well as the presentation of scientific posters, oral communications, and other scholarly products at national and international academic events. Overall, the experience strengthened professional and research competencies by enhancing evidence-based decision-making, critical appraisal of scientific literature, interdisciplinary collaboration, and scientific communication, reinforcing research as a fundamental component of professional education in physical activity, sport, exercise science, and health.
