Abstract

It is about the need to own the department of Boyacá in terms of protection and conservation of the region's natural resources, which seeks to educate all citizens about biodiversity and, in some way, mitigate the environmental impact of the extractions carried out in Boyacá, as one of the most threatened departments in the country. Its location is projected in the current José Joaquin Camacho botanical garden; its location is appropriate for its vegetation. This center of environmental education will be the first on promotion and dissemination in this matter at the national level. It will be located in Tunja (Boyacá) and will innovate for its focus on biodiversity and environmental education, considered the only one in Latin America so far. What is sought is that the community get involved and give protection to each species, from knowledge. And what is sought is for the people of Boyacá to become more appropriated and come closer to this knowledge and to promote processes towards sustainable development. That is why this project is necessary so that the academy can build tools that take care of the natural species of Boyacá.
