Proyecto centro de rescate y memoria cultural (Sierra nevada- Santa Marta)

Abstract

This monograph consists of two parts, one that is the compilation of analysis information, starting from the problem presented and a second part handling the solution with the Design of an architectural project. In the city of Santa Marta, a few kilometers from the Caribbean Sea, an almost perfect pyramid is formed, which they call Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, the highest coastal massif in the world and the heart of the territory of four indigenous peoples: Los Koguis, los Arhuacos, the Wiwas and the Kankuamos. The problem to be addressed is the violation of these four communities which are currently suffering from the violation of their rights to life and cultural identity of their people, such as the armed conflict, forced displacement, invasion of tourists in the area and finally the bad cultural preservation by the state. Due to all the above we want to propose an architectural project in which the culture of our indigenous people is preserved without invading their territory and respecting their culture; locating it in the city of Santa Marta, to facilitate the arrival of tourists to the project. With the project we 23 seek that the indigenous people get to know new cultures and the tourists get to know the indigenous culture.
