Interpretación y propuesta de la Ubasha (Vivienda ancestral de la comunidad indigena U´WA)

Abstract

INTERPRETATION AND PROPOSAL OF THE UBASHA, understood as a project that wants to rescue the identity of the U'wa indigenous community, and solve health problems that affect the vast majority of its clans, is an architectural strategy that aims to solve these health problems , and of identity with strategies that improve the quality of life of the communities without having to affect their customs that within their cosmology and ancestral tradition make some displacements for all that is sacred territory and they do it within three parameters and geographical location. Highlands where the sacred territory is currently located, a place that according to their tradition they have the duty to defend, the intermediate lands where part of the same community is located and finally we have the lowlands or plains, where it is located the largest number of indigenous reservations. The project has a relationship with its surroundings, this being a main factor in the project conceptualization, being named as Vernacular Architecture, which according to Frank Lloyd Wright describes as "folk building growing in response to real needs, adjusted to the environment by people who knew better than anyone what fits and with a patriotic feeling ", which allows a relationship, of the volume that interacts permanently with its exterior, as well as having an ideology of preservation and integration of the ecosystem.
