Using a three-story residential structure located in Bogotá as a case study, both manual procedures and SAP2000 modeling were employed to evaluate seismic performance. The results highlight the importance of drift control and the need to adjust structural member dimensions to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. A comparative assessment between the Equivalent Static Method and the Modal Spectral Analysis showed differences of less than 2% in base shear, confirming the consistency of both approaches for regular structures. Additionally, increasing the cross-sectional size of columns improved lateral stiffness, reducing story drifts to within the 1% limit required by the code. The study also considers the updates introduced by Decree 1766 of 2024, which partially modifies NSR-10 while maintaining the applicability of both static and modal analysis procedures for conventional buildings. Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) have emerged as alternatives that help restore the hydrological cycle through processes of retention, storage, and infiltration. This handbook provides a practical guide for the implementation of four SUDS typologies selected for their relevance and applicability in urban contexts in Colombia: rainwater harvesting tanks, green roofs, floodable tree pits, and permeable pavements. The methodology was based on a review of technical and regulatory literature, along with an analysis of design criteria specific to each system. Predimensioning procedures were developed and complemented with practical exercises that facilitate the understanding of basic hydraulic functioning and its application in real scenarios. The results of this work are reflected in the consolidation of clear guidelines on design principles, environmental benefits, and construction considerations, providing useful tools for planning and decision-making in the early stages of urban design. A comprehensive document review was conducted in institutional repositories of different universities in the region, scientific articles, and public institution information. The review found that there are no detailed studies identifying natural threats and determining the vulnerable areas, as no land use adjustment has been made in line with the territorial planning framework. Additionally, at the administrative level, there are insufficient tools for disaster risk management, and the efforts by the Villavicencio Mayor’s Office in this regard have been inadequate. Results: The formwork with a mirror facade reduces the sun exposure of the concrete, because it is evident that the specimens that have the facade improve the resistance of the 14% on average. Conclusions: The use of a form with a mirror façade is viable, although the investment initial is greater due to the inclusion of the mirrors, this translates into improved resistance and reduction of maintenance expenses in the future. Originality: The inclusion of a new material such as mirrors in the construction, generating innovation by proposing a solution to reduce sun exposure of the concrete.
