    At the San Francisco de Asís Educational Institution, the digital literacy project using the STEAM methodology allowed 32 eighth-grade students to actively participate in a process of social appropriation of knowledge. This group, made up of 44% girls and with a significant representation of foreign students (53%), developed technical and reflective skills through practical activities focused on solving social and technological problems. The process included training modules on the fundamentals of electronics, programming and computer-aided design, as well as visits to laboratories at the Santo Tomás University. These experiences provided students with access to advanced tools and professional environments, strengthening their practical learning. Among the outstanding achievements is the design and development of a bioengineering project: smart glasses with audible detection for people with visual disabilities, integrating knowledge of CAD design, programming and electronics. This approach not only facilitated the transfer of technical knowledge, but also promoted inclusion and equity, empowering students as agents of change and connecting their learning to social impact and technological innovation in their community

    The process of social appropriation of knowledge implemented at the Educational Institution focused on a participatory and inclusive approach, designed to connect ninth and tenth grade students with practical learning in science and technology. Through the STEAM methodology, a dialogue of knowledge was fostered that allowed students to explore and apply technical concepts in real contexts through activities such as mini-challenges and technological projects. The process involved the active integration of key actors: students, teachers and the university community. The laboratories of the Santo Tomás University facilitated an advanced learning environment where students developed technological solutions applied to social problems, such as automation and accessibility. This approach fostered the socialization of knowledge by providing equitable access to technological resources and high-quality training environments, empowering students with technical competencies and practical skills. The inclusion of students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, with a notable female representation, highlighted the project's commitment to equity and social inclusion. Beyond the transfer of technical knowledge, the process promoted a significant change in the participants' perception of science and technology as tools for social transformation, thus strengthening the ties between education, innovation and the community.

    The process of social appropriation of knowledge at the Comuneros Educational Institution was developed using the STEAM methodology, integrating practical and collaborative activities with the participation of 58 ninth grade students. This approach allowed students to acquire technical skills in electronics, programming and automation, linking their learning to real problems in their environment. The process involved the active integration of key actors: students, teachers and the university community. The laboratories of the Santo Tomás University facilitated an advanced learning environment where students developed technological solutions applied to social problems, such as automation and accessibility. This approach fostered the socialization of knowledge by providing equal access to technological resources and high-quality training environments, empowering students with technical competencies and practical skills. The diversity in gender, origin and socioeconomic level of the participants ensured an inclusive and enriching approach, promoting cultural exchange and teamwork. This process culminated in a showcase of innovative projects, highlighting the impact of technology as a tool for community transformation.

    Mixed-mode Stress Intensity Factors for Tubes under Pure Torsion Loading

    Although it seems like a common load-geometry configuration, there is neither an analytical nor a numerical solution for Stress Intensity Factors (SIF) in cracked tubes under pure torsion. Standards such as API 579, BS 7910 or handbooks do not present such case. There is plenty of solutions based on FEM or weight functions calculations for an extensive load-geometry combinations, but not for tubes under pure torsion. This paper shows curves of KI, KII, and KIII for through-wall cracks obtained with ANSYS simulations for slim tubes, under pure torsion with a rounded horizontal slit, numerically calculated via J-integral. Additionally KI, KII, and KIII are calculated using relative displacement between two points along the crack lips using Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics (LEFM) formulations for Crack Tip Opening Displacement (COD) and Crack Tip Sliding Displacement (CTSD). Results are compared with experimentally measured SIF using the Digital Image Correlation (DIC) technique for fatigued-growth cracks reported in literature.
