APOYO TÉCNICO A LA ALCALDÍA MUNICIPAL DE RAMIRIQUÍ BOYACÁ EN LA DEPENDENCIA DE LA UNIDAD DE SERVICIOS PÚBLICOS DOMICILIARIOS (USPD) DEL MUNICIPIO.*

Abstract

This report summarizes the activities carried out during my internship at the Ramiriquí Town Hall as part of the process to obtain my Civil Engineering degree. The internship lasted for 16 weeks, amounting to 600 hours of work, taking place from September 2, 2024, to December 19, 2024, under the degree option modality. This experience allowed me to apply the knowledge gained in a real-world work environment. The work was focused on supporting the municipal public services unit, working as an assistant in the office. They collaborated with the team responsible for water supply, sewerage, and waste management, participating in both administrative and operational tasks. On the administrative side, they prepared technical reports and monitored the performance of field staff. In the operational sphere, they supervised work teams, such as those in charge of waste collection and the drinking water treatment plant, and conducted measurements to track service consumption. Special emphasis was placed on ensuring the quality and efficiency of services provided to the community, collaborating across different fronts to maintain high standards. Additionally, areas for improvement were identified, and solutions were proposed to optimize operations, such as organizing the process of conducting measurements, ensuring responses were clearly and appropriately communicated to users, and scheduling special days for field visits. The management of overdue accounts and the handling of complaints, requests, claims, and suggestions (PQRS) were key tasks. We implemented stringent processes to verify measurements, billing, and service suspensions, always ensuring compliance with legal regulations. This experience allowed me to strengthen both technical and soft skills, such as project supervision, quality control, personnel management, and customer service, all of which contributed to my professional and holistic development as a Civil Engineer.
