El presente Proyecto de Grado tiene como objetivo analizar y diagnosticar la dinámica de ocupación y el crecimiento del borde urbano del municipio de Piedecuesta, Santander. Se identifican los procesos históricos de expansión de la trama urbana y las ocupaciones temporales de la cabecera municipal, considerando las actuaciones, características y configuraciones que han moldeado el territorio a lo largo del tiempo. A través de un análisis del crecimiento del área y perímetro urbano, se busca comprender las transformaciones en los trazados urbanos, la fragmentación predial en distintas etapas, y los factores que explican el perfil de expansión del municipio. Este estudio aborda elementos clave como la dispersión de los barrios, asentamientos humanos, zonas de desarrollo informal, áreas periurbanas y unidades residenciales, evaluando su impacto sobre el territorio. Asimismo, se analizan etapas desarrolladas por actores urbanos y rurales, que han dejado huella en la configuración y futura expansión urbana. El proyecto incluye una comparación temporal que permite interpretar los procesos de ocupación en términos de velocidad, densidad ocupacional y los índices asociados al crecimiento. Se consideran las características físico-urbanas, geológicas, climáticas, paisajísticas, de relieve, condiciones topográficas y factores de riesgo, con el fin de evaluar el impacto del crecimiento urbano sobre el suelo rural. Como resultado, se generará un inventario digital, georreferenciado y cuantitativo sobre las áreas de borde urbano y sus temporalidad. Instrumento que permitirá planificar el desarrollo futuro del municipio desde un enfoque sostenible y sustentable, promoviendo la protección ambiental, franjas para reservas agrícolas, equilibrio entre urbanismo y biodiversidad.
Abstract
The purpose of this Degree Project is to analyze and diagnose the dynamics of occupation and growth of the urban edge of the municipality of Piedecuesta, Santander. The historical processes of expansion of the urban fabric and the temporary occupations of the municipal capital are identified, considering the actions, characteristics and configurations that have shaped the territory over time. Through an analysis of the growth of the urban area and perimeter, the aim is to understand the transformations in the urban layouts, the fragmentation of land in different stages, and the factors that explain the expansion profile of the municipality. This study addresses key elements such as the dispersion of neighborhoods, human settlements, informal development zones, peri-urban areas and residential units, evaluating their impact on the territory. Likewise, stages developed by urban and rural actors are analyzed, which have left their mark on the configuration and future urban expansion. The project includes a temporal comparison that allows the interpretation of the occupation processes in terms of speed, occupational density and the indexes associated with growth. The physical-urban, geological, climatic, landscape, relief, topographic conditions and risk factors characteristics are considered in order to evaluate the impact of urban growth on rural land. As a result, a digital, georeferenced and quantitative inventory will be generated on the urban edge areas and their temporality. This instrument will allow planning the future development of the municipality from a sustainable and sustainable approach, promoting environmental protection, strips for agricultural reserves, balance between urban planning and biodiversity.
