Abstract

The purpose of this document is to analyze in detail the process carried out in the area of imports of the Henkel account. During the internship period, significant problems were identified in the invoicing of the shipments of this customer, especially in terms of delays and complications within the process. The SWOT analysis revealed several weaknesses that impact invoicing efficiency. The invoicing process involves three key players: the customs broker, the freight forwarder and DSV. Each plays a crucial role, and delays in coordination between them represent a of the main weaknesses. First, the time required for the customs broker to upload the invoice values into the CW1 system (CargoWise) creates delays. Subsequently, it is necessary to obtain and process the value charged by the freight forwarder for the handling and delivery of the goods in the corresponding warehouses. Finally, the freight forwarder must calculate the value to be charged to the customer, taking into account the costs associated with the transportation of the cargo. The calculation of the charge to the customer is based on several factors, such as the type of vehicle used, the port of origin, the destination city, the weight of the cargo and the type of container used.
