Abstract

Research is a key step in the advancement of higher education, as it provides a broader framework for the field of knowledge under study, enabling instructors and scientists to arrive at solutions to regional or global problems. In this context, environmental sciences and engineering face the enormous global task of achieving sustainable development in all productive sectors, while respecting communities and the environment. The following document presents an account of the research activities framed and required by the faculty of Environmental Engineering at the Universidad Santo Tomas Tunja sectional, during the tour as a research assistant, which was developed in conjunction with INAGUA (Institute of Water and Environment) associated with the faculty, some activities were developed to support research projects, offering environmental services in various areas, formulation of strategies and activities that strengthen the research culture around the sustainable management of natural resources, support in accreditation processes and re-potentiation of equipment and laboratories of the faculty and the continuous search for contracting, financing and research opportunities, obtaining access to national and global sources through platforms such as PIVOT and SECOP II, among others, of which a description of what has been developed will be given.
