Historia, identidad y pertenencia: la fuerza cultural de los espacios históricos en la sociedad peruana frente a la desvalorización patrimonial en Colombia

Abstract

The present systematization aims to reconstruct, analyze, and reflect on the academic and cultural learnings acquired during the academic experience carried out in Peru, specifically in the cities of Cusco and Lima, from October 26 to November 2. The work is based on the central question: How does Peru manage to preserve and keep its culture alive through time, while in Colombia there is an evident disconnection in the appropriation and preservation of cultural identity? During the visit, the Law students participated in an academic and cultural journey that combined two complementary dimensions: the approach to the history and worldview of the Inca people in Cusco, and participation in the XXVII Ibero-American Congress of Law and Informatics, held in Lima. In Cusco, they visited emblematic places such as the Temple of the Moon, the White Christ, textile centers, and the citadel of Machupicchu, where they observed how the Peruvian people preserve their ancestral heritage through respect for nature, traditions, and sacred symbols. In Lima, the academic component focused on reflections about the challenges that Law faces in the digital age, such as data protection, artificial intelligence, and human rights in technology. This systematization highlights culture as a fundamental pillar of identity and social cohesion, demonstrating that the development of a nation is not achieved by abandoning its roots but by integrating them into education, law, and technological progress. Finally, it offers a comparative reflection between Peru and Colombia, emphasizing the need to strengthen cultural identity and appreciation within the Colombian context as a means of building citizenship, justice, and collective memory.
