The tour immersed us in colonial landscapes: from one of the seven wonders of the world, Machu Picchu, and the impressive stone walls of Sacsayhuamán, to the colonial architecture of the town of Cusco and the exciting train journey through the Andes. The adventure extended southward, exploring the desert of Huacachina. Beyond the enriching tourism, the congress was the focal point of this trip, allowing for the exchange of knowledge on artificial intelligence and law, such as data protection, copyright, regulation of artificial intelligence in Peru and Mexico, civil proceedings, and digital rights. The central theme of the debate was “data protection in today's digital environment,” where the urgent need to update legal frameworks and academic policies to safeguard personal information and promote the ethical use of new technologies was discussed. These academic travel experiences not only strengthen learning but also consolidate ties of collaboration and international research on issues of major international relevance.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Sistematización de la experiencia de práctica realizada en la división de ciencias jurídicas de la Universidad Santo Tomás(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-03-10) Palomino Moreno, Laura Daniela; Rachez Tapias, Laura Natalia; Cortes Borrero, Rodrigo; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001585622; https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=r3mwh2aaaaaj&hl=es; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000013120; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9122-5648The purpose of this report is to systematize the university practice experience developed in the Legal Sciences Division of the University of Santo Tomás, Villavicencio cam-pus. This academic exercise goes beyond a me-re description of administrative activities; it constitutes a process where academic training con-verges with the organizational reality of a faculty that oversees highly sensitive and relevant academic processes, which are decisi-ve for the functioning of the program and the comprehensive support of students and teachers. This practice focused on the internal management of faculty processes, an area where document organization, schedule planning, and support in degree processes directly impact the perception of educational quality and the functioning of the Dean's Office. In this sense, this report seeks to reflect on the impact of the internship on the professional training process, highlighting the development of administrative and ethical competencies, as well as the strengthening of skills such as responsibility, teamwork, time management, and the resolution of complex situations within an academic environment.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , La experiencia de sistematización del derecho australiano(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-03-18) Pineda Mendieta, Angie Camila; Ballen Rojas, Jhon Alexander; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000054544; https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=es&user=d4I412MAAAAJ; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000013120; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2414-5429This paper analyzes the systematization of the Australian legal system. The study also examines the main sources of law, including legislation and judicial decisions, and highlights the role of key institutions such as the High Court of Australia and the Australian Law Reform Commission. Finally, the paper reflects on how the Australian experience can provide useful insights for improving legal organization in Latin American countries, particularly Colombia.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Historia, identidad y pertenencia: la fuerza cultural de los espacios históricos en la sociedad peruana frente a la desvalorización patrimonial en Colombia(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-02-23) Mesa Peréz, Paula Andrea; Melo Beltrán, Andrés Mauricio; Gonzáles Manrique, Uriel; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001427407; https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=es&user=MV9Q2A0AAAAJ; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000013120; https://orcid.org/0009-0004-8098-5360The present systematization aims to reconstruct, analyze, and reflect on the academic and cultural learnings acquired during the academic experience carried out in Peru, specifically in the cities of Cusco and Lima, from October 26 to November 2. The work is based on the central question: How does Peru manage to preserve and keep its culture alive through time, while in Colombia there is an evident disconnection in the appropriation and preservation of cultural identity? During the visit, the Law students participated in an academic and cultural journey that combined two complementary dimensions: the approach to the history and worldview of the Inca people in Cusco, and participation in the XXVII Ibero-American Congress of Law and Informatics, held in Lima. In Cusco, they visited emblematic places such as the Temple of the Moon, the White Christ, textile centers, and the citadel of Machupicchu, where they observed how the Peruvian people preserve their ancestral heritage through respect for nature, traditions, and sacred symbols. In Lima, the academic component focused on reflections about the challenges that Law faces in the digital age, such as data protection, artificial intelligence, and human rights in technology. This systematization highlights culture as a fundamental pillar of identity and social cohesion, demonstrating that the development of a nation is not achieved by abandoning its roots but by integrating them into education, law, and technological progress. Finally, it offers a comparative reflection between Peru and Colombia, emphasizing the need to strengthen cultural identity and appreciation within the Colombian context as a means of building citizenship, justice, and collective memory.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Del patrimonio andino al desierto costero experiencia cultural en Cuzco, Lima y Huacachina(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-28) Ortiz Buritica, Lina María; Castellanos Peña, Maria Paula; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001711723; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000013120; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8914-4841This document compiles the main findings of the academic trip to Peru, which took place from October 26 to November 2, 2025. These dynamics have continuously exposed both tangible and intangible cultural assets to vulnerability, thereby endangering the nation’s collective memory and identity. Based on the identification and evidence of the results obtained during the academic exchange in the Republic of Peru between October 26 and November 2, 2025, and with the aim of establishing, from a legal and technical perspective, the approach to the thematic framework developed in this document, the need arises to structure an early warning system for the protection of cultural heritage at risk in Colombia. This system would integrate International Humanitarian Law (IHL), International Human Rights Law (IHRL), and the Colombian constitutional framework. The proposed model draws on the conservation experience of Machu Picchu (Peru) and the monitoring mechanisms developed by UNESCO, with the goal of establishing a preventive and coordinated tool that strengthens the legal and technical protection of cultural heritage in Colombia.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Movilidad académica internacional a Europa y Egipto como herramienta de formación académica, jurídica y cultural en el estudiante de Derecho(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-26) Pérez Cárdenas, Alison Daniela; Ramos Durán, María José; Quiroga Sánchez, Oscar Fernando; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000054759; https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&user=1kjORAYAAAAJ; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000013120; https://orcid.org/0009-0004-6066-3647International academic mobility constitutes a fundamental tool in the comprehensive education of university students, particularly in the field of Law, where the comparative analysis of legal systems and cultural contexts allows for a broader understanding of legal phenomena. This paper aims to analyze the international academic mobility experience carried out in Europe and Egypt as a process of academic, legal, and cultural strengthening for Law students from Universidad Santo Tomás, Villavicencio campus. The methodology applied follows a descriptive and reflective approach, based on direct observation, the analysis of academic activities, and the experience gained during the mobility program. The trip began on November 14 with departure from Colombia and arrival in Madrid on November 15, followed by travel to Rome and other European destinations included in the established itinerary, where historically, legally, and culturally significant sites were visited. As a result, the mobility experience contributed to the strengthening of academic skills, the development of critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the influence of Roman Law and European and Egyptian constitutionalism on contemporary legal systems. Additionally, the experience fostered an appreciation of cultural diversity and highlighted the importance of internationalization in higher education. It is concluded that international academic mobility represents a significant contribution to the professional and personal development of Law students.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Sistematización de la práctica profesional en el area jurídica de Aceites Manuelita(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-19) Enciso Martínez, Jaider Roggeiro; Naranjo Urrea, Paula; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002120442; https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=es&user=q1oChCEAAAAJ; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000013120; https://orcid.org/0009-0007-6870-4070This systematization highlights the learning process and knowledge construction acquired during my professional internship as a legal intern at Aceites Manuelita S.A. The document compiles the doctrinal contributions presented during the XXVII Ibero-American Congress on Law and Informatics, highlighting those that could be relevant for incorporation into the Colombian legal system. There is a clear need to strengthen legislation aimed at preventing, detecting, and punishing cyberattacks, given the growing incidence of such behavior in Latin America and the existing regulatory shortcomings, where certain behaviors are not yet classified as computer crimes. This is based on the premise that cybersecurity is an essential element in guaranteeing the right to personal data protection and in consolidating a secure digital environment.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Un viaje entre patrimonio cultural peruano y la evolucion de la inteligencia artificial como desafios juridicos(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-21) Borda Yate, Laura Valentina; Hernandez Chaquea, Edgar Santiago; Gonzalez Manrique, Uriel; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001427407; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=MV9Q2A0AAAAJ&hl=es; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000013120; https://orcid.org/0009-0004-8098-5360This article stems from the systematization of the academic experience developed within the framework of the Ibero-American Congress on Law and Informatics FIADI 2025, held in Peru, a country renowned for its invaluable cultural and historical richness. This experience not only represented an opportunity for professional growth, through participation in discussions on the challenges facing Law in the digital age, but also a process of personal transformation as we explored emblematic sites such as Machu Picchu, Cusco, the Plaza de Armas in Cusco, and the Huacachina oasis, which evoke the ancestral legacy and cultural diversity of the Peruvian people. Beyond the technical learning, the experience allowed us to understand that contemporary Law demands a comprehensive perspective that integrates legal knowledge, technological innovation, and cultural sensitivity. Thus, this trip became a bridge between academia and life, between tradition and modernity, reaffirming the need for a Latin American Law committed to progress without forgetting its roots.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Legado Juridico Civilizaciones Antiguas: Roma, Grecia y Egipto(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-16) Rodriguez Estrada, Sirley Dayana; Monroy Parra, Yeimi Valentina; Cortes Borrero, Rodrigo; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001585622; https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=r3mwh2aaaaaj&hl=es; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000013120; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9122-5648This document aims to systematize the experience acquired during the international academic mobility carried out between November 15 and 29, 2025. The Universidad Santo Tomás offered this opportunity with the purpose of enabling Law students to explore the origins and foundations of Western legal systems. Throughout the journey, iconic landmarks of humanity and sites of historical and legal significance were visited. In Rome, the group explored the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon of Agrippa, and several museums that preserve the legacy of Roman Law, considered a fundamental pillar of the Colombian legal system. In Athens, places such as the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora were recognized as settings where democracy emerged and the first models of political, social, and legal organization were established, alongside Greek mythology as the central cultural belief of the empire. In Egypt, millenary temples and the Egyptian Museum were visited, showcasing one of the oldest legal systems in human civilization. Finally, in Madrid, research was conducted on the functioning of the Spanish legislative power and its influence on legal processes in Latin America. This experience allowed for a deeper understanding and analysis, from both practical and theoretical perspectives, of how the earliest civilizations laid the foundations of modern law and how their principles and policies remain relevant in contemporary legal systems despite the passage of time.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Raices del Derecho en el Viejo mundo(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-19) Chisco Bermudez, Lina Maria; Perez Mora, Alberto Jose; Garcia Valcarcel, Gustavo Adolfo; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002064048; https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=es&view_op=list_works&authuser=2&gmla=AJsN-F6L6sZqalG0VJ3DfN_TbL5xzOg725bcuhMyv9c0ct0zCh1IAjY3Eg3i74fRFBVlYYqBdAR2_3J4eZO-V3jAI0u3SzIwyitt7GZXx9lKKTRwFo3N7_c&user=p978-WsAAAAJ; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000013120; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4483-8476The international mobility program to Rome, Athens, Luxor, Cairo, and Madrid was a unique experience that allowed us to understand the origins and evolution of law in a comparative manner. From a descriptive approach, it explores how Japan transformed one of humanity’s greatest tragedies into a symbol of resilience, moral reconstruction, and commitment to world peace. Through direct observation of commemorative spaces during an academic mobility program, it was evident that memory not only preserves past events but also guides ethical and legal actions toward respect for life and human dignity. The document examines the legal, social, and cultural repercussions of the atomic bombings, emphasizing their influence on the consolidation of International Humanitarian Law and the adoption of instruments such as the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. Likewise, it presents a comparative reflection with the Colombian context regarding memory, peace, and non-repetition processes developed after the internal armed conflict. In this way, it demonstrates that the memory of Hiroshima and Nagasaki transcends borders and constitutes a universal ethical reference capable of inspiring reconciliation, reparation, and justice policies in any society marked by violence.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Japón y Colombia en la memoria de la violencia e identidad nacional(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-11-27) Vega Mejía, Dennis Ester; Ortiz Mendez, Camila Andrea; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001586669; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=cKqwWqEAAAAJ&hl=es; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000013120; https://orcid.org/my-orcid?orcid=0009-0009-9948-9742This systematization, due to the international mobility with the Faculty of Law to Japan, in June and July, involved approximately 16 students, along with four faculty members. The main purpose of this systematization is to obtain a law degree. One of the main reasons for the mobility has been the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the explosion of the atomic bombs. Different contexts of violence are presented that shape social identity, from the history of the samurai to the current social identity of Japan, with an emphasis on World War II in contrast to the Colombian armed conflict. The destruction and devastation in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 never faced a prolonged internal conflict. Its social cohesion is related to the samurai heritage, which was characterized by values such as discipline, honor, and sacrifice for the common good. In contrast, since the mid-20th century, Colombia has suffered an internal conflict that, between political disputes, guerrillas, and drug trafficking, left a fragmented country and millions of victims. It is evident that while Japan strengthened a unified national identity in the face of external threats, Colombia suffered internal divisions that have hampered its stability.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Marco normativo para la actualización de la política pública de derechos humanos, derechos internacional humanitario y paz(2025-10-30) Parrado Villalba, Laura Marcela; Espitia Vergara, Maria Andrea; Guerrero Reyes, Oscar Elias; Universidad Santo Tómás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001341802; https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=AOgoenUAAAAJ&hl=es&citsig=AMD79or5-IY4m_WYRGMA-qP255a3JTN_FA; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000013120; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2893-525XThe Human Rights Research Group of the Universidad Santo Tomás – Villavicencio, actively participated in the meetings of the Technical Committee composed of the Government of Meta, The United Nations Development Program UNDP, USAID’s Responsible Governance Program, the office of the United Nations high commissioner for human rights and the Universidad Santo Tomás.
