The planning and knowledge of native flora serve not only as elements of ecological balance but also as catalysts for aesthetic, recreational, and wellness functions, contributing to public health and sustainable development. This process of social appropriation of knowledge (PASC) specifically focuses on strengthening the bond between the community and the urban biodiversity of the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga through participatory methodologies. Using didactic and pedagogical strategies such as workshops, training sessions, and photography marathons, it aims to foster greater understanding and appreciation of native flora, facilitating its identification and planning in public spaces. Starting from Phase 1 of the FIBU for the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga—which produced a list of recognizable species based on their biological, functional, and conditional components, along with the design of templates in AutoCAD, and an industrial design registration with copyright declared at the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), uniquely developed nationwide by USTA’s architecture faculties—Phase 2 continues with activities like the artistic creation workshop The Green Pencil of Architecture, held at the Museum of Modern Art of Bucaramanga (MAMB), training workshops for the dissemination of pedagogical and didactic strategies with the national landscape expert, Architect Diana Wiesner, and the 1st University Photography Marathon for Nature. Appropriation is achieved through the use of resources such as illustrated information sheets and other didactic materials, which facilitate the integration of this knowledge into citizen practices, reinforcing local identity and promoting greater environmental awareness among residents and urban planners.Ítem Proceso de Co-creación para la confirmación de acciones en el análisis de unidades de paisajes urbano territoriales, en el área metropolitana de Bucaramanga(2023-05-12) Lizcano Prada, Fabio Andrés; Flórez Moreno, Dolly Smith; Zabala Vargas, Sergio; Tapias Uribe, Sergio Andrés; Universidad Santo Tomás, Seccional Bucaramanga; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000063078; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000066803; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001308602; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000754129; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=LC2jWDEAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=Q3xAgKEAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=HHVpOlsAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000003220; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000003086; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6294-6211; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1336-6509; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8705-2748; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5803-1123This study is part of the project “Analysis of the Heat Island Effect and Life Cycle of Public Space Materials in Bucaramanga for the Formulation of a Manual of Sustainable Design Guidelines PHASE IV”. Its objective is to involve the student community in methodological processes for the understanding of urban and territorial analysis, learning from the good use of indicators, and providing tools that allow identifying future actions to improve thermal comfort and quality of life, in an eco-sustainable urban environment. Urban parks in Bucaramanga are analyzed, evaluating variables such as urban comfort, air temperature, reflected radiation and thermal analysis of materials. The results allow understanding the landscape and its environmental, social and cultural context. As a result, six analysis reports were generated from the work units carried out in class with the students, where the assessment of the shaping processes in the actions of human and social impact on the territory was providedÍtem Catálogo-calendario 2024: Diversidad de la arquitectura religiosa en Bucaramanga(2024-01-09) Rueda Cáceres, Liliana; Navas Arenas, Nilson Joel; Universidad Santo Tomás, Seccional Bucaramanga; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000943959; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001923544; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=5PZfc2YAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000003220; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4147-8310; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2500-5425The Catálogo-Calendario 2024 is an initiative of the “Espacio para la Diversidad Religiosa en Colombia (2023)” Project that seeks to highlight the architecture of religious diversity in Bucaramanga. This collaborative work between the research teachers of the research group and the community was carried out through an intentional process of citizen participation. The objective was to create knowledge based on the local perspective of the people who are part of the community, covering their various jobs and experiences in the context of the historic center. It is intended that these interpretations and initiatives enrich the local heritage discourse on cultural heritage and contribute to local development. The approach of social appropriation of knowledge with social interest applied in the research project was developed through dialogue with invited members of the community, which allowed the recognition of the cultural wealth of the area. This process facilitated a deep and shared understanding of the importance of cultural heritage and the value of the identity of the place. The methodological proposal was structured in three main phases. The first was the generation of spaces for exchange between academic knowledge and empirical knowledge, focused on the recognition, appreciation and appropriation of cultural heritage. Secondly, the identification of Assets of Cultural Interest (BIC) in the context of the historic center was carried out, which allowed the recognition of problems and the exploration of possible solutions from the personal perspective of the participants. And finally, the proposal for community actions was the central axis of the process, and was developed through the collaborative construction of knowledge. These actions will facilitate, in a second phase projected for the future, the creation of a local heritage discourse that can address issues of collective interest and contribute to the solution of problems within the community of the historic centerÍtem Brochure-Calendario 2022 USTACOLOMBIA(2021-10-22) Rueda Cáceres, Liliana; Farres Delgado, Yasser; Abreu Plata, Eneyda; Cano Castro, Gina; Sanabria, Viviana; Garcés, Camilo; Gómez, Carlos Humberto; Universidad Santo Tomás, Seccional Bucaramanga; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000943959; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001606353; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000158674; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=5PZfc2YAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=-7F26vYAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=TjVta3cAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000003220; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4147-8310; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1758-6517; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5350-542X; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6222-3723; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1132-4679; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6467-0594; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9695-325XThe Brochure-Calendar is a divulgation element of the project Why do research in undergraduate Architecture? At the same time, the landscape is closely linked to the survival of the species; base the fundamental needs of inhabiting. From the completion of Phase 1 of the Urban Biodiversity File - FIBU for the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga - AMB; where it was achieved: Collect key information on native varieties for coding. Analyze conditioning factors for their location in urban areas. Define ecological functions for developing fact sheets. In this Phase II, the development of a package of analogous and digital information sheets as a didactic resource, based on AUTOCAD blocks for students, architects, planners and the community in general is addressed. Three activities were carried out as part of the methodology: 1. Artistic creation workshop "The green pencil of architecture" at the Museum of Modern Art of Bucaramanga - MAMB to recognize the native flora by freehand drawing images with leaves, flowers, seeds, others. 2. Training workshop with Arq. Diana Wiesner, national landscape expert: for the dissemination of pedagogical and didactic strategies on the use of native vegetation in the landscape of the city. 3. 1st marathon of university photography by nature, to understand the tree as a subject of right. After selecting and illustrating three of the native species; in the Carlos E. Virviescas Park, the community was socialized with the distinctive characteristics stated in the illustrated cards, for guidance on its care and importance as an environmentally friendly practice. In conclusion, instruments were created to link academia with citizen practice and generate new spaces of knowledge that strengthen the identity of our territory.Ítem Apropiación Social de Conocimiento. It is framed within an internal research call of the Universidad Santo Tomás. This report highlights the participatory and collaborative approach between the research team and the community for the construction of knowledge, which allowed the definition of community actions based on the collective interest and the recognition of the landscape elements and their identity values. In a previous phase, the identity of this peri-urban landscape had been recognized through a multidimensional diagnosis of the territory combining scientific and contextual knowledge. Regarding the methodology, a cultural gathering utilizing oral narratives was implemented to share and disseminate the cultural heritage and transmit the previously identified values of identity as recognized by the research team. This approach effectively enabled participants to strengthen their understanding and connection to their own identity through the portrayal of representative stories and folktales from Piedecuesta. Subsequently, a dialogue was initiated to explore and acknowledge the socio-economic, ecological, and cultural context, thereby deepening the comprehension of the various factors influencing the territory. As a collaborative effort, more than sixty proposals for transformative actions were developed, organized according to the diverse elements of the landscape and their respective economic, cultural, and ecological functionality. These proposals were thoughtfully designed to comprehensively address the identified challenges in the territory, with the aim of fostering local development and enhancing the well-being of the community. In conclusion, strengthen social interest in the community through the feedback of identity values and the process of co-creation of community actions, most of which are focused on the landscape elements of: Cerro de la Cantera, Water Networks, Open Built Space and Trees.
