(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-31) Fernández Gutiérrez, Juan Pablo; Mateus Cobos, Laura Tatiana; González, Gloria Elizabeth; Ortiz Gracia, Andrés Emigdio; Cruz Hernandez, Nancy; Universidad Santo Tomás
The project “Mirador del Paraíso: Colors of the South and Art in the Heights” proposes a multimedia platform to strengthen community‑based tourism in Mirador del Paraíso, Ciudad Bolívar. The initiative aims to showcase the Ruta del Color, local murals, community culture, and neighborhood entrepreneurship. The main issue identified is the lack of digital visibility, which limits tourism growth and economic opportunities for residents. The platform will include interactive maps, 360° tours, mini‑documentaries, testimonies, and a guided narrative led by “Ahero,” an animated spray‑paint character. The proposal is supported by fieldwork, interviews, and digital ecosystem analysis, emphasizing the importance of memory, urban art, mobility (TransMiCable), and digital storytelling. Expected impacts include increased tourist flow, economic activation, preservation of urban art, and stronger territorial identity. The project outlines a business plan, strategic alliances, and an estimated budget of $206,400,000 COP for development and implementation.

Bee Motion is an innovative, gender-focused safe mobility initiative developed as part of a specialization in Strategic Communication. It aims to create more equitable, sustainable, and safe urban environments for women in Bogotá. The project integrates a mobile transportation app exclusively for women, complemented by an educational and participatory web platform that promotes the prevention of gender-based violence, civic responsibility education, and social awareness regarding safe mobility. Inspired by the metaphor of a beehive, Bee Motion symbolizes a supportive network of bees (women) who care for one another, share knowledge, and build safer paths to fly. In this sense, the project not only offers a transportation service but also a communication and social transformation strategy that fosters women's empowerment and the participation of men as allies in eradicating gender-based violence.

    Fraudes en línea MurallApp.
(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-27) Daza Contreras, Santiago Andrés; Ochoa Fuentes, Diego Camilo; Geraldino Guerrero, Kheren Viviana; Rodriguez Álvarez, Geraldin Tatiana; Cruz Hernandez, Nancy; Universidad Santo Tomás
This research addresses the phenomenon of online fraud in Colombia, which has experienced an exponential growth of 859% in recent years, positioning Bogotá as one of the primary epicenters of cybercrime with over 15,000 reported cases in 2025. The study identifies that the vulnerability of users, particularly the millennial generation, stems from a lack of digital education and the absence of proactive technological protection tools. The primary objective is to promote an information security culture through the development of MurallApp, a comprehensive strategy that combines a mobile application for real-time fraud detection with multimedia educational programs. Utilizing a mixed-methods research approach that integrates documentary inquiry, quantitative surveys, and qualitative interviews with key stakeholders—including financial institutions and victims—a prevention model based on the pillars of trust, reputation, and security is proposed. The expected results are directed toward the reduction of risks associated with phishing, sextortion, and data loss, establishing a security protocol that empowers citizens and strengthens confidence in the national e-commerce ecosystem with a regional expansion projection by the year 2030.

    MundoPet
(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-02-02) Vargas Huertas, Luis Felipe; Ramos Pineda, Sebastián; Petro Cortes, Diego Alejandro; Guzmán Amaya, Juan Diego; Universidad Santo Tomás
This study analyzes the landscape of pet ownership in Bogotá, highlighting that, although the city leads national statistics with 25% of households owning dogs or cats, there is a critical gap in animal welfare education. Significant deficiencies are identified in disease prevention through vaccination, oral health care, and the early detection of pain symptoms by pet owners. Given this problem, the development of an interactive multimedia platform is proposed as a pedagogical tool to mitigate misinformation, promoting responsible ownership that guarantees the animals' quality of life and strengthens the human-pet bond within the current urban context.

Voces Tejedoras de Paz (Voices Weaving Peace) is a multimedia product developed within the framework of the Specialization in Multimedia Management and Digital Communication at Santo Tomás University, which aims to document and disseminate academic materials, experiences, and results obtained in the knowledge-building processes led by Santo Tomás University for journalists from peace radio stations. This project takes the form of a digital platform that seeks to establish itself as a space for meeting, learning, and collective peacebuilding in Colombia, articulating communication, creativity, and collaboration between journalists, academics, and communities. The initiative arises in response to the need to systematize and make visible the training and communication experiences developed since 2019 by the Santo Tomás University. Although peace radio stations represent a unique experience worldwide, their academic monitoring has been limited, focusing mainly on compliance indicators. Therefore, this project proposes a unified documentary review that collects lessons learned, narratives, and perceptions from journalists and related communities, contributing to the generation of knowledge and the social appropriation of the peacebuilding process through communication. The research underpinning this development has a documentary approach and descriptive scope, aimed at characterizing the pedagogical, communicative, and social processes of peace radio stations. Using a phased methodology, the project addressed the diagnosis of the target audience, the collection and analysis of academic materials, the UX/UI design of the platform, and the construction of audio, visual, and interactive content. The result is a narrative and immersive microsite, structured in modules that allow users to explore the training process and the experiences of journalists, access academic materials, listen to podcasts, explore a documentary gallery, and participate in collaborative spaces such as “Deja tu retazo” (Leave your piece) and “En sintonía con Mary” (In tune with Mary). The figure of Mary, a narrative character and virtual companion, symbolizes the voice of the journalists who weave memory and peace from the territories. With an estimated investment of $300,000,000, Voces Tejedoras de Paz is projected as an academic and communicative reference tool that, beyond being a repository, is configured as a living, dynamic, and participatory memory platform. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 16 and 17), this project contributes to the construction of more just, peaceful, and collaborative societies by promoting the right to communication and strengthening local capacities. Finally, the platform sets an academic and multimedia precedent for the documentation of peace processes, allowing for its continuous updating and territorial expansion. In this sense, it is hoped that Voces Tejedoras de Paz will become a replicable model for training, communication for peace, and the systematization of experiences in Latin America.

Oral health promotion is a crucial component of overall public health. In the context of Bogotá, the prevalence of dental disease remains a significant concern, especially among women, who often face unique challenges related to their life cycles (such as pregnancy and menopause) and their social roles-of care, which may affect the prioritization of your oral health. Statistics indicate a high incidence of dental caries and periodontal disease among the female population in the capital, underlining the urgent need for more effective and accessible educational and preventive interventions. Whereas, if oral health has a cross-sectional dimension with other organs and is incidental in other conditions that may lead to diseases, it is necessary to pay attention. Why could oral health be related to digital and communication environments? The digital challenge and opportunity. Despite the availability of information in digital environments, through search engines, specialized journals or advertising related to dental services, it is often dispersed, in dense formats or on platforms that lack accessibility and attractiveness. It is not information that communicates from experts to patients for informational-pedagogical purposes, and even less so to potential patients who could prevent a complex medical condition by accessing the information. They are identified as content for a dialogue between specialists or directed to clients, not patients or citizens and especially, citizens in general. Therefore, this project is conceived under the premise that oral health literacy can be optimized and democratized for the adult population through an innovative digital tool. Traditional mass communication strategy has demonstrated limitations in the reach and retention of knowledge, which drives us to adopt an approach based on information and communication technology (ICT). There is no patient-doctor language because the priority is in business and not in improving the oral health of the population. This degree project, entitled "Odontoland: a digital information tool to promote adequate oral health in women in Bogota," proposes the creation and launch of a website meticulously designed to address this issue. Odontoland will not simply be a repository of information; it is conceived as a digital ecosystem that meets the highest standards of accessibility, dynamism and usability. The contents of the platform will focus on providing scientific and educational information on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the most recurrent dental conditions in women. In addition, sections dedicated to personalized care routines, the dissemination of the latest advances in dental medicine, and the exploration of innovative digital devices for dental self-care will be integrated. The platform will be based on updated data on the epidemiological profile of female patients in Bogotá, offering an informed and contextualized perspective.

(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-07-04) Ñungo Fernandez, Laura Sofia; Piza Medina, Andrés David; Moreno Pérez, Laura Lissette; Monroy Castellanos, Andrés Felipe; González Silva, Nelson; Cruz Hernandez, Nancy; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001682341; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002379001; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6640-6738
In Colombia, animal rescue foundations face significant challenges due to their limited visibility and access to resources, which are crucial for their sustainability and the care of vulnerable animals (El Nuevo Siglo, 2023). This problem is exacerbated in Bogotá, with its high street animal population, especially in localities like Ciudad Bolívar (Instituto Distrital de Protección y Bienestar Animal, 2022). The lack of effective communication strategies prevents many of these organizations from obtaining the necessary support. This thesis addresses this issue by designing an innovative multimedia platform prototype, specifically for animal foundations in Ciudad Bolívar. The general objective is to strengthen their visibility and facilitate connection with the community, promoting donations, volunteering, and adoption through an intuitive and transparent interface. Specific objectives include: (1) Optimizing interaction between foundations and the public through dedicated support sections; (2) Evaluating the platform's effectiveness in terms of visibility and increased support via performance metrics; and (3) Analyzing the contribution to urban sustainability of these foundations based on their actions in Bogotá. The justification for this project lies in the urgency of digitally empowering grassroots animal welfare organizations, enabling them to overcome visibility barriers that limit their impact. By adopting a digital communication approach focused on networking and interactivity, this research seeks to catalyze a change in support for these organizations. The development of a multimedia web prototype, complemented by an omnicanal strategy integrating social media, a blog, and a podcast, will not only increase visibility but also build a community committed to animal welfare within the 18 to 45 age group. This project is distinguished by its emphasis on usability and user experience, utilizing design elements that foster participation and emotional connection with the animal cause, aiming for a tangible impact on the quality of life of rescued animals and the sustainability of the organizations that protect them.

The main focus of this project is the design and implementation of a strategic digital communication plan for Corporación Somos Todos, an organization that carries out initiatives and works to dignify the lives of the recycling population in the Usme locality of Bogotá. The project is structured around a three-stage process: an analysis of the current state of its communication channels; the implementation of strategies focused on social media, the website, and digital marketing; and finally, an evaluation of the metrics that Corporación Somos Todos will be able to obtain. This proposal is based on an interdisciplinary approach that integrates communication, advertising, management, and international negotiation, with the aim of developing strategies that can be replicated in other organizations within the social or business sectors. The project’s innovation lies in harnessing the emotional power of Usme’s history and the living conditions of its recyclers. Through social media analysis, the use of multimedia tools, and the creation of a digital community, the project seeks to improve the visibility of the corporation’s efforts and strengthen its ability to connect with diverse audiences—from local residents to potential donors and strategic partners.
