Abstract

The purpose of this report is to document and analyze the activities carried out during my internship at the Villavicencio Water and Sewer Company (EAAV), specifically in the Sewerage area, under the supervision of engineer Alexander Barrera, head of said area. This experience, carried out as a requirement for obtaining the title of Civil Engineer, allowed me to apply the knowledge acquired throughout my academic training, facing real challenges in both the technical and administrative fields, essential for my professional development. One of the most notable activities was the modeling of sewerage networks through the use of specialized software such as SewerGEMS, which allowed simulating and optimizing the hydraulic behavior of existing networks. In addition, I participated in technical field visits, where I inspected the conditions of the sewerage network, identified problems such as collapses and obstructions, and proposed solutions together with the technical team. These visits not only allowed me to apply technical skills, but also to develop the ability to interact with users and affected communities, which was key to better understanding the needs of the service and strengthening my communication and problem-solving skills. Another of my key roles was the management of Requests, Complaints, Claims and Suggestions (PQRS), which involved direct attention to users, follow-up of requests and coordination of the actions necessary to resolve the problems identified in the sewerage network. Through this activity, I acquired a comprehensive view of the functioning of public service systems and the importance of efficient and transparent management to ensure user satisfaction. Regarding the administrative aspect, I was in charge of recording and monitoring the activities carried out using the Orfeo and Nova document management systems, which allowed for efficient control of the projects, facilitated the traceability of information and ensured compliance with the established deadlines. Correct document management was a key factor for the organization and success of the assigned tasks. This experience not only gave me the opportunity to acquire new technical and administrative knowledge, but also prepared me to face the challenges of the labor field with greater confidence and management skills. Throughout this report, the activities carried out, the lessons learned, and the recommendations proposed to improve the company's internal processes and optimize my future professional practice will be detailed.
