Two prototypes of informational web interfaces were designed: a functional version based on continuous scrolling and a version optimized using UI/UX design principles with progressive interactivity. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, with a descriptive and comparative scope, grounded in a quasi-experimental design. Participants interacted with both interfaces, which were then evaluated through surveys, participant observation, and usability tests using a Likert scale. The results showed an improvement in the dimensions of visual clarity and navigation and control for the optimized interface, facilitating information comprehension and orientation within the interface. However, the differences observed in the dimensions of cognitive load, frustration, and perceived digital stress were less favorable, suggesting that the incorporation of UI/UX principles improved aspects related to visual organization and navigation, but did not produce a proportional decrease in the perceived mental effort or frustration experienced by the participants. Consequently, it is concluded that UI/UX design decisions directly influence the interaction experience and constitute a relevant factor in reducing or intensifying factors associated with digital stress, providing evidence on the importance of user-centered design for promoting digital well-being in web interface development.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Informe de Prácticas Empresariales en la Gobernación de Boyacá(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-07-09) Gómez Márquez, Nelson Gabriel; Cabra Sánchez, Juan Enrique; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002170112This document presents the activities, processes, and results obtained during the professional internship carried out at the Government of Boyacá, specifically within the Office of Business Development and the Secretariat of Culture and Heritage. The core of the study is centered on "Aika," a creative-research project addressing future-oriented hopelessness and generational distress among university students aged 20 to 24. Grounded in Beck's Cognitive Model and the structural pressures of globalization, a mixed-methods diagnostic phase revealed that 78.1% of the sample experiences hopelessness and 70.3% suffers from chronological anxiety. As a plastic response, a silent animated short film was structured around the "Hero's Journey" framework, leveraging character design and concept art as vehicles for resilience and the symbolic translation of psychological distress. In tandem, the creative praxis incorporates "Leyva's Odyssey," a gaming prototype addressing touristification in Villa de Leyva, Colombia. Based on local testimonies, the video game implements meaningful interaction mechanics to prompt ethical dilemmas and foster empathy toward native residents. Collectively, this work demonstrates the capacity of artistic practice and conceptual design to transmute psychosocial and territorial conflicts into aesthetic discourses of high critical density.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Ux Wave(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-07-24) Borda, Sebastian; Manrique, Frank; Rojas, Oscar; Acuña, AlejandroUX Wave is an interactive and transmedia design magazine whose main objective is to disseminate both academic and relevant articles. The idea for developing this magazine arose in collaboration with the program's improvement plan, which primarily focused on having a product to showcase or further publicize the program and what better way to simultaneously keep students informed of design trends and events both within the school and externally. For the first edition of the magazine, a methodology was applied that combined qualitative, design, and design approaches. We used references, for example, for the brand manual, conducted testing and analysis of previous data, and, as part of the research, analyzed similar magazines and digital media. Based on the above, and as a result of the objectives set at the beginning of the project, we generated a first version of the magazine, which applied different tools learned in the program and broadened the understanding of design as a communicative discipline. The result is the publication of a journal for both academic and professional contexts, with the potential to continue growing and transform into a permanent space for reflection and analysis on UX.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Proyectos realizados en el semillero de investigación(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-07-23) Aponte Murcia, Erika Patricia; Universidad Santo TommásThis report presents the academic experience of Erika Patricia Aponte Murcia as part of the Research Group "Píxeles" at Universidad Santo Tomás, in which the project "Descuida, yo te cuido" was developed. Based on a case study of the Patas Arriba Mobile Veterinary Unit in the city of Tunja (Boyacá, Colombia) and some pet owners in the Santa Inés and Libertador neighborhoods, a community-centered design strategy is proposed to strengthen animal welfare and facilitate access to clear and timely information regarding the health of their pets. The project is based on a research approach using qualitative methods and participatory design tools, integrating aspects such as animal welfare, public health, the construction of the subject living in society, and the user experience in community contexts. As a result, an interface for an intuitive mobile application is developed, which acts as a bridge between veterinary knowledge, community actions, and the daily needs of animal guardians. This tool seeks not only to improve the experience, but also to activate processes of appropriation and co-responsibility in animal care at the social level. From the framework of Interaction Design, the project contributes to the reflection on how both digital and analog designed experiences can respond to an ethical, social, and dynamic perspective. In this approach, the user experience is not conceived as an isolated interaction, but as part of a network of collective practices, relationships of trust, and generational exchanges. Whether through a mobile application or direct interaction at animal welfare conferences, the aim is to generate a meaningful, coherent, and functional experience that promotes active participation and commitment to animal welfare as a shared social value. Keywords Interaction design, animal welfare, user experience, community, sterilization, public health, participation.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Informe de participación en semillero Pixeles(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-07-21) Pinzón Morales, Luis Angel; González Pérez, María Camila; Delgadillo Aponte, Julián Santiago; Acuña Najar, Jose Alejandro; Universidad Santo TomásThis document presents the participation of students Luis Ángel Pinzón Morales and María Camila González Pérez in the research group Pixeles at Universidad Santo Tomás – Tunja campus.
