An overview is made from the admission, presentation and approval of the research proposal for the doctoral candidacy, the support of the thesis, the internship and graduation in this postgraduate course. In this way, the stages of doctoral training are presented and the selection and admission process, the doctoral seminars, the development of the research, the support of the doctoral thesis and the graduation are described. Subsequently, the protocol for presentation and approval of the research proposal as a requirement for doctoral candidacy is shown, where the generalities of the research proposal for candidacy and its corpus of work to be developed are addressed. Then, the general guidelines for the presentation and support of the doctoral thesis are shown along with its definition, its characteristics, its content, its formal aspects, and the requirements for its evaluation and support. Finally, the ethical considerations for the development of doctoral research are shared, and formats and rubrics of the internship process, the research proposal, the doctoral thesis, and support are disclosed. In the study and analysis of these situations, this document seeks to disclose some generalities that range from identifying the typologies of educational policies, to providing feedback the exercise of implementing educational policies from the analysis of situations that have been experienced in the Latin American cultural environment, with references from some countries such as: Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Brazil (Navarro, 2006); all this with the intention of addressing a common situation of the Latin context, rooted of course to the customs and aspects of the Latin American context.
