This document analyzes the epistemological foundations of Industrial Engineering with the aim of conceptually articulating the professional profile of the industrial engineer with the specialization tracks of the academic program at the Main Campus. Through a conceptual review, the text examines the type of knowledge produced by the discipline, characterized by its applied, interdisciplinary, and contextual nature, as well as its relationship with the exact, social, and economic sciences. The study addresses the main epistemological approaches underpinning contemporary Industrial Engineering, highlighting epistemological pluralism, systems thinking, pragmatism, and an ethical-humanistic perspective. Additionally, it explores the implications of this framework for curriculum design, graduate profiles, and the development of key professional competencies. Finally, the relevance of the specialization tracks in Process Improvement and Organizational Management is justified, demonstrating their epistemological coherence, formative complementarity, and contribution to the education of professionals capable of critically, ethically, and sustainably intervening in complex productive and social systems.

This document presents a process improvement proposal for the nozzle production at Dama Técnica Ingenieros Ltda., a Colombian company with 19 years of experience in the metal-mechanical sector. The work addresses the issue of inaccuracies in sales projections affecting production capacity and resource management. Using the DMAIC methodology, the root causes were diagnosed, and solutions were proposed based on implementing a data analysis system and 5S organizational methodologies. The results aim to optimize daily production capacity, enhancing both projection accuracy and operational efficiency.

This document details the application of the DMAIC methodology in Juan Diego's Moda S.A.S. to reduce defects in the production of jeans. Through the phases of definition, measurement, analysis, improvement and control, the main causes of failures were identified, such as problems in the machinery, low quality inputs and lack of training. The implementation of an automated system in Excel made it possible to record and analyze defects efficiently, optimizing production processes and ensuring continuous quality improvement.

This work explains the application of what was learned in the LEAN & SIX SIGMA course by industrial engineering students towards a real company, on this occasion an SME with the company name Equipamentos Industriales S.A.S, which needed to receive help to give foot to the appropriation of SDG12, because the company does not have an environmental component and also had the problem of high spending on printing made in the areas/process. Making use of tools related to LEAN such as the Ishikawa and Pareto Diagram that made it possible to find causes and effects of the problem, as well as the methodologies of the 5S philosophy for continuous improvement and Kanban that allowed us to give way to the construction of three improvements and solutions for the problem under study and that gave evident results within the microenterprise throughout the complementary course through an indicator of the number of weekly impressions in the 4 printers, demonstrating a reduction in paper consumption.

In line with Lean Six Sigma principles, we are implementing a digital solution based on Asana and AppSheet to continuously improve the management of meeting minutes and work orders at Comfica. This initiative will enable us to identify and eliminate waste in processes, optimize resource allocation, and enhance the quality of our services. This report describes the evaluation of the rental process for a property at the company Tu Lugar Ideal. Several issues were identified, including the accumulation of unnecessary documents and the lack of a document tracking system, which negatively impacts the efficiency of the rental process. Additionally, there is a challenge related to attracting new clients. Based on these problems, an improvement proposal has been developed, consisting of a social media marketing campaign aimed at attracting more clients and a chatbot designed to streamline and automate the data collection process for clients across the various services offered by the company.

From Operations Research and its application through advanced analytical methods, its purpose is to support the decision-making process, identifying the best possible courses of action; Its approach is based on mathematical modeling, such as linear programming, which allows it to be an analytical tool that serves to achieve a good vision of the reality of the problems encountered and in the search for optimization of resources. This document intends to determine the optimal route that a truck must take (minimizing distances) for the distribution of the money supply from the bank tellers to the society box. The distance matrix between the different points (ATMs) to be visited by the truck is made to determine the mathematical model, for the resolution of a mathematical model, the approach of inequalities in linear programming is carried out using the Microsoft tool and application. office Excel Solver Evolutionary and the traveling agent problem. Results: There is an optimal route whose route is 80.1 km.

This document objective to study the advantages of a possible future application of the "ZERO PAPER" policy in the public administration, of MinTIC, at the University of Santo Tomás - headquarters. For this purpose, a diagnosis of the current consumption of paper in the administrative units of the University's main campus was made, using information collection tools such as an interview with the director of the General Archive and a survey of the administrative staff at the main campus; different elements of the "ZERO PAPER" policy in the public administration and other documents related to the subject were identified; and finally, a proposal for a paper management strategy was drafted within the framework of the "ZERO PAPER" policy, which the authors believe will generate great benefits in the medium term for the University, but above all for the environment.

The company C&GE Consultores S.A.S. is a consulting company that offers comprehensive consulting services, from the definition of corporate strategy, analysis and internal diagnosis, evaluation of business crises, financial and competitive analysis, and determination of business risks. In this paper it is intended to present a business proposal about the launch of a new consulting service oriented towards Human Talent Management, presenting a market research according to the information provided by the company and the use of marketing tools and techniques. Market research frames everything related to the models, methods and processes necessary for the implementation of a product or service in the market, taking into account the collection of information on the sectors, population and the feasibility of product exposure. The results obtained through questionnaires, interviews and data analysis indicate an acceptance and possible hiring of a consultancy exclusively to Human Management by some of the organizations that have obtained some of the services from the company studied.

The processes in Talent Management provide support to optimize and manage the relationships between the people who make up the companies, involving continuous improvements for each of the procedures in the search for a good performance of both the collaborators and the people who do part of the proper functioning of the company. In this research, a study is developed, beginning with an internal diagnosis of the company C&GE Consultores S.A.S., managing to find shortcomings to transform them into opportunities for improvement. The results obtained through the interviews within the company's facilities allowed defining strategies and improvement methods in the procedures that frame each process in the area of human talent, generating added value in the development and updating of tools and formats that can be used by the company with a focus on performance evaluation and the compensation process.
