Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Diseño de un modelo integral de atención, asesoría y orientación en procesos de repatriación para familias de migrantes fallecidos en el exterior: una propuesta desde el Marco Lógico para la Fundación Caritas y Sonrisas en Girón, Santander.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-06-26) Ardila Caballero, Ana Cristina; Valbuena Porras, Mónica Liset; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000083213; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4496-543XThis extension project addresses the issue related to the absence of psychosocial support programs for families of Colombian migrants who have died abroad, particularly in body repatriation processes. This situation is characterized by misinformation, barriers in legal and administrative procedures, and economic constraints—factors that generate emotional overload and negatively affect families’ mental health, leading to prolonged and complex processes of migratory bereavement. In this context, the objective was to design a comprehensive model for care, counseling, and guidance aimed at families of Colombian migrants who have died abroad, implemented at the Caritas y Sonrisas Foundation in the municipality of Girón, Santander, based on the best practices of the Logical Framework approach. Methodologically, the process was developed under a qualitative approach with a descriptive–propositional scope, through the application of semi-structured interviews with affected families and the implementation of the participatory METAPLAN tool with institutional and community stakeholders, which allowed for the identification of needs, opportunities, and projections for the development of a relevant intervention model. As a main result, a comprehensive intervention model was designed, integrating components of psychosocial support, legal guidance, administrative management, symbolic reparation, and interinstitutional coordination. This model is structured around a clear, accessible, and human-centered care pathway aimed at dignifying migratory bereavement, mitigating mental health impacts, and strengthening institutional response capacity; furthermore, it is projected as a replicable strategy in other regions of the country facing similar challenges.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Plan de proyecto para el diseño de la cadena de valor del negocio de orquídeas de la asociación Orquiflores del Huila, bajo los lineamientos del PMBOK 6(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-06-26) Gomez Betancourt, Karen Yanitsa; Velásquez Sánchez, Jose Deyson; Dugarte Mendoza, Juan Sebastian; Universidad Santo TomásThis study was undertaken to address the issues identified within the Orquiflores del Huila Association, namely low productivity and a lack of standardisation, where production is carried out on an individual basis and lacks coordination, as well as a lack of awareness of actual costs – factors which have led to limited competitiveness and sustainability among the 36 women members. Based on this, the general objective was set as follows: “To design a structured value chain for the orchid production business of the Orquiflores Association of Huila, following the good project management practices proposed by the PMBOK® Guide (sixth edition), leading to the optimization of its processes and the strengthening of its competitiveness in the market”. The methodology employed was a mixed-methods study integrating qualitative and quantitative analysis through surveys and interviews, which facilitated the technical planning of various critical areas such as scope, schedule, costs, quality and resources. This made it possible to demonstrate the financial viability of the proposed model with an investment of $25,000,000 COP, with a net present value (NPV) of $76,352,767, and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 97.4%, which supports the proposal to create a centralized cooperative nursery, with the aim of facilitating the transition to a professional technical model that, if implemented, would ensure operational profitability and promote the economic empowerment of rural women in the municipality of Pitalito, Huila.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Diseño de una Oficina de Gestion de Proyectos en la Red de Instituciones para la Innovacion REDIPI bajo los lineamientos del PMBOK® Sexta Edicion(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-06-26) Tello Calderón, Gerardo; Rodriguez Segura, Holmes; Universidad Santo TomásThis study was designed to address the identified problem in the Red de Instituciones para la Innovación (REDIPI), where there is a constant absence of standardization in project management, resulting in deficiencies in resource use, execution delays, and a low level of organizational maturity. Accordingly, the objective was to design a Project Management Office in the Red de Instituciones para la Innovación REDIPI under the guidelines of the PMBOK® Guide – Sixth Edition. A mixed qualitative-quantitative approach was used, including maturity diagnosis through the application of OPM3® and surveys to key stakeholders, design of organizational structure, processes, roles and tools, and validation through expert review. The main result obtained was an intermediate-low maturity level, based on which a support-type PMO was proposed with standardized processes, an implementation schedule, and a portfolio of services adapted to REDIPI. The special discussions establish that the PMO promotes standardization, improves resource management, enables strategic alignment, but requires greater leadership demand for successful adoptionTipo de ítem: Ítem , Optimización del área de la solución de vivienda para el costo máximo legal en proyectos de interés social(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-06-25) Echeverri García, Julián David; Castro Quijano, Camilo José; Flórez Moreno, Dolly Smith; Universidad Santo TomásProblem: The structuring of Social Interest Housing (SIH) projects in Colombia is subject to multiple variables whose definition falls under the responsibility of the State. These characteristics introduce high levels of uncertainty and consequently hinder the determination of key parameters such as project budgets. The definition of Social Interest Housing is based on its maximum allowable cost, which is established in relation to the minimum wage applicable to each year. This situation creates highly uncertain scenarios when the financial analysis of projects must be carried out before the value of the minimum wage has been determined. Nevertheless, project stakeholders are required to undertake all activities related to project structuring by estimating this parameter and defining the floor area of the housing units. This process generates two possible outcomes: either the legal cost threshold is exceeded, rendering the project unfeasible, or the housing unit area is underestimated, keeping the cost below the legal limit but adversely affecting the functionality and quality of the living spaces. Objective: This monograph sought to define an iterative scheme for evaluating project constraints and maximizing the floor area of housing units. Method: To address this situation, the monograph approaches the problem through the Scrum framework. Drawing on Scrum’s adaptive nature and making use of its pillars, roles, ceremonies, artifacts, and increments, several iterations were carried out to evaluate different housing unit area and minimum wage cost scenarios. The purpose was to identify the optimal floor area that complies with the legal cost ceiling while maximizing the usable living space. To achieve this optimization, a preparatory sprint was conducted to establish the technical and financial parameters. Subsequently, using these inputs, a series of functional development sprints were performed to verify area and cost conditions according to the legal certainties applicable at each stage of the process. Results: An evaluation scheme was developed to assess the relevant variables and determine whether the maximum allowable cost was achieved. Through the successive iterations, the maximum housing unit floor area permitted within the legal limit was identified. Discussion: The results demonstrated that agile methodologies have a valuable role in project components that have traditionally been addressed through predictive approaches, while also providing inputs for further analysis and future research.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Propuesta teórica de un modelo de gestión de riesgos para proyectos de infraestructura social en comunidades Wayuu: integración de estándares PMI® para contextos de alta vulnerabilidad(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-06-24) Zuñiga Sotillo, Giovanny Jose; Roa García, Denis Manuel; Universidad Santo TomasThis study designs a risk management model for social infrastructure projects in Wayuu communities in La Guajira, integrating PMI guidelines with sociocultural and territorial variables. The methodology follows an applied qualitative approach, combining document review, contextual analysis, and validation with territorial and technical stakeholders. The findings show that traditional approaches are insufficient in intercultural contexts. In response to this situation, this degree project aims to propose an optimization model for the EMP, integrating project management best practices from the PMBOK® 6th Edition with performance measurement and visualization tools, such as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and a monitoring dashboard. The study was developed using an applied methodological approach through a non-experimental institutional case study, employing qualitative and quantitative techniques including document review, surveys, and interviews. As a result, an environmental management model was designed, incorporating stakeholder identification, roles and responsibilities definition, risk management, a communication framework, KPIs, and a visual monitoring system. Additionally, a projected economic feasibility analysis was conducted, demonstrating that the estimated indirect economic benefits exceed the costs associated with adopting the proposed model. The study concludes that the proposal is technically and economically feasible and enables the transformation of the EMP into a measurable, verifiable, and results – oriented environmental management system, strengthening institutional sustainability and data – driven decision -makingTipo de ítem: Ítem , Diseño de una oficina de gestión de proyectos (PMO) en la empresa constructora INACAR S.A. para la planificación y control de su portafolio, bajo los lineamientos del PMO A practice Guide, 2025 y el PMBOK 6° edc(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-06-24) Lamus Bayona, Jorge Mauricio; Pulido Velandia, Nataly Adriana; Calderón Ortega, Carlos Gabriel; Universidad Santo TomásThe growth and diversification of the project portfolio of INACAR S.A., a Colombian construction and real estate company managing more than ten simultaneous projects across five cities, have revealed structural limitations in the alignment between corporate strategy and operational execution, stemming primarily from the absence of a formal portfolio governance structure that affects process standardization, risk management, and strategic decision-making. In response to this context, this graduate thesis aims to design a strategic Project Management Office (PMO) in accordance with the PMO Practice Guide (PMI, 2025) and the PMBOK® Guide — Sixth Edition. The research follows an applied approach with a mixed-methods methodology and a single case study design, combining document analysis, semi-structured interviews, and the Project Management Institute's Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3) to assess organizational maturity. Results indicate a global maturity score of 0.603, with strengths in standardization (0.83) and measurement (0.78), alongside critical gaps in continuous improvement (0.13) and in the institutional mechanisms required for integrated portfolio governance. Based on these findings, the study proposes a Strategic Portfolio PMO defining its structure, functions, services, governance model, performance indicators, and a phased implementation plan, whose financial viability under conservative assumptions yields a 223% ROI and a net present value exceeding COP $6,500 million.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Diseño de un área de transferencia tecnológica articulada a la Dirección de Investigación e Innovación de la Universidad Santo Tomás Bucaramanga(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-06-18) Rodríguez López, Hellen Geneth; Rubio Vásquez, Karol Vanessa; Soto Delgado, Ruth Stella; Flórez Moreno, Dolly Smith; Universidad Santo TomásThe Universidad Santo Tomás Bucaramanga generated a portfolio of 147 innovations, 5 granted patents, 10 patents in process, 111 prototypes and 21 software developments between 2013 and 2024; however, it lacks a functional unit to systematically manage the transfer of these results to industry and society. To address this institutional gap, this monograph proposes the design of a technology transfer area linked to the Research and Innovation Directorate, applying the Scrum agile management framework as the planning methodology. To this end, a Product Backlog of fourteen user stories distributed across six epics is presented, prioritized using MoSCoW and estimated through Planning Poker; Sprint Zero is planned with its agile environment setup activities; and a prototype deliverable for Sprint 0 is proposed to exemplify the application of the methodology. The proposal demonstrates that the institution has the technical, regulatory and institutional conditions to implement the area, and that the agile approach is suitable for organizational design projects in university settings, as it enables iterative uncertainty management and incorporates stakeholder feedback in each cycle.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Gestión Ágil para la Optimización de los Procesos de Acreditación Institucional en la Universidad Santo Tomás Seccional Tunja(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-06-24) Rivera Amado, Blanca Belcy; Castro Quijano, Camilo José; Flórez Moreno, Dolly Smith; Universidad Santo TomásHigher education institutions in Colombia face mounting pressure to demonstrate quality assurance under the National Accreditation Council (CNA) framework, recently unified by Agreement 01 of 2025 of the CESU. At Universidad Santo Tomás Seccional Tunja, institutional accreditation is hindered by heavy documentary workloads, manual evidence management, informational fragmentation across departments, recurrent administrative rework, and the absence of real-time executive visibility, conditions that extend preparation cycles and undermine operational sustainability. This study aims to design an agile management model, grounded in Scrum, to optimize the institutional accreditation process in alignment with the prevailing regulatory framework. Methodologically, it adopts an applied research approach with a mixed, predominantly qualitative design, integrating institutional diagnosis, single-case analysis, and conceptual prototype development. The proposed model combines fixed two-week timeboxing, documentary automation, predictive institutional analytics, and risk management compliant with ISO 31000:2018, shifting accreditation from a sequential and reactive paradigm toward an iterative, adaptive, and evidence-based one. It is structured into four sprints, one preparatory and three operational, across an eight-week horizon, with a Product Backlog of ten strategic epics and twenty user stories prioritized through the MoSCoW technique and an executive dashboard prototype covering the twelve evaluation factors. Projected outcomes include reduced documentary preparation times, increased evidence traceability, and fewer reprocesses. The model constitutes a replicable, theoretically grounded reference for Colombian higher education institutions, rendering the accreditation process traceable, verifiable, and measurableTipo de ítem: Ítem , Diseño de un modelo integrado de gestión de proyectos, que vincule las capacidades dinámicas con los lineamientos del PMBOK 6Ed, para proceso de compras y adquisiciones en empresas de hidrocarburos(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-06-24) Arias Cano, Liliana Andrea; Castro Quijano, Camilo José; Universidad Santo TomásIn increasingly volatile markets, the oil and gas industry requires procurement processes that are not only efficient but also adaptive. While project management literature has focused on success factors, there is a gap regarding the specific managerial actions needed to drive organizational performance through strategic sourcing. This research aims to design an integrated project management model for the procurement area of hydrocarbon companies, linking Dynamic Capabilities (DC) with the guidelines of the PMBOK 6th Edition. A qualitative and applied approach was used, involving documentary analysis and variable factorization to align DC (sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring) with project management processes. The proposed model provides a practical roadmap to transform procurement into a high-level capability, ensuring a sustainable and resilient supply chain against price fluctuations and regulatory pressures. Conclusions: integrating DC with PMBOK standards allows firms to move beyond "best-in-class" ordinary capabilities toward evolutionary fitness, creating long-term value in complex, regulated environments.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Formulación estratégica de un análisis de negocio para el fortalecimiento organizacional y sostenible de la Asociación de Ganaderos del Municipio de Coper, Boyacá “ASOGACOP”, basado en la guía PMBOK 6ª Ed(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-06-24) Florian Benitez, Diana Patricia; Valdés Alvarado, Eduin Fernando; Universidad Santo TomásThis paper presents a business analysis to strengthen the organizational management and promote the sustainability of the Cattle Ranchers Association of the Municipality of Coper (ASOGACOP), in accordance with the guidelines of the PMBOK Guide 6th Edition. As a result, only 16% of registered green businesses have achieved comprehensive capitalization, thereby hindering their potential contribution to sustainable development. In response, the general objective of this study is to design a financial and interinstitutional synergy initiative between the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development and SENA that, within the framework of the National Green Business Plan 2022–2030, enables access to seed capital from public sources. Methodologically, the Logical Framework Approach (LFA) is applied to structure the proposal through a systematic analysis of problems, objectives, and solution alternatives, ensuring results-oriented planning that incorporates territorial realities. The main outcome of the study is the selection and design of the most viable alternative: the creation of a joint interinstitutional fund between the Fund for Life and Biodiversity and the SENA Entrepreneurship Fund (Fondo Emprender), with a projected portfolio of COP 89.97 billion, together with the technical documents and intervention pathway required for its operation. The discussion concludes that this initiative represents the most comprehensive and sustainable strategy, as it addresses the root causes of institutional fragmentation and establishes a financial mechanism aimed at strengthening the green business ecosystem, aligning public policy with the real needs of entrepreneurs and contributing to the country’s development objectives. Keywords: green ventures, seed capital, logical framework and inter-institutional synergyTipo de ítem: Ítem , Estudio de prefactibilidad para el proyecto de mejoramiento de las redes de suministro de agua en la Universidad de Pamplona, basado en los principios y dominios de desempeño de la guía del PMBOK® en su Séptima Edición(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-06-23) Ortiz Campo, Dayana Josefa; Sisa Camacho, Jhon Sebastián; Antivar Cadena, Martha Liliana; Bonilla Granados, Carlos Alexis; Universidad Santo TomasThis study aims to address the need to improve the condition of the water supply network at the University of Pamplona, as it suffers from deterioration that causes constant leaks; the network shows signs of corrosion and damage associated with its age. In response to this, the following was proposed: “Conduct a pre-feasibility study for the water supply network intervention project at the University of Pamplona, applying the principles and performance domains of the PMBOK® Guide, Seventh Edition.” The goal is to improve the network in a manner aligned with the institution’s strategic and operational needs. To achieve this, an initial assessment of the current state was conducted, gathering information through field observations and surveys of users and key university stakeholders. This information was analyzed using a Combined Weighted Method (CWM). Subsequently, a risk analysis was performed using an integrated methodology that considers the probability of occurrence and the impact of failure. Next, a continuity plan is developed and proposed, based on preventive and corrective maintenance activities, with the aim of ensuring academic and administrative continuity at the university. Finally, a contractual feasibility analysis is presented, outlining contractual alternatives for implementing the activities proposed in the continuity plan, accompanied by technical, operational, economic, and environmental analyses.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Identificación del manejo de residuos en las administraciones de las propiedades horizontales de Duitama, Boyacá, como base para una propuesta de un plan educativo de gestión de residuos, bajo el enfoque de las buenas prácticas del PMBOK 7 ed y Marco Lógico.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-06-24) Aparicio Mejia, Deyarlyn; Espada Ortega, Josué; González Garzón, Jhon Alexander; Universidad Santo TomásWeaknesses were found in source separation, lack of community participation, and little knowledge of environmental laws; therefore, there is an impact on waste management. Consequently, educational processes are linked as a way to drive cultural changes focused on sustainability.
