Proposal for the improvement of vehicular mobility in the UPZ 85 Bosa Centro with the development of the road reserve and improvements in the traffic light cycles, originates from the great congestion at peak demand hours and the growth of the city of Bogotá, in the last 36 years no new road infrastructure had been built to allow the exit and entry of the UPZ, but until the construction of the extension of the Av. Ciudad de Cali to Av. San Bernardino, however, in the southeast of the UPZ the congestion at peak hours does not change for vehicles that need to go to the south and east of the city, this is due to the changes in the road section of Av. However, the district and the municipality of Soacha have a road reserve with the objective of consolidating and articulating the city. Based on these areas, four scenarios were proposed where an integral solution was determined for the scenarios, reducing the maximum queue lengths at intersections and optimizing service levels.

The accelerated growth of cities, as well as of the population, increases in parallel the demand for resources to meet the needs of housing, work, recreation, among others, which require a good transportation system. Although the Ministry of the Environment, together with the Ministry of Transportation, is currently making more intrusive allusions to green infrastructure and the modes of transportation to which we must migrate for a more sustainable environment, we cannot leave aside the systems that we already have to move from one place to another and that require urgent attention for their maintenance and rehabilitation. In this sense, this document will deal with the proposal to make a new use of materials that have already completed their first life cycle, as it has been done since the 50's in Europe and North America; applied to our region with special characteristics due to its climatic behavior. It should be noted that this is not the first study carried out in the country, and that scale applications have already been carried out on roads in the cities of Bogota, Medellin and San Andres in order to evaluate their behavior; however, the scope of the proposal is to contribute to the bibliography of this technology for a cold mix added with virgin aggregates and for use as a wearing course, different from the studies mainly carried out on hot mixes.

The research, focused on risk management in the planning of road infrastructure projects, specifically in the context of mass public transportation systems such as Transmilenio in Bogotá, has yielded significant conclusions. The initial objectives were comprehensively addressed, providing comprehensive methodological guidance for risk management in the initial stages of similar projects. The identification of intrinsic complexity in massive projects, evidenced in the analysis of Transmilenio trunk contracts, highlighting the need to manage technical complexity from the initial phases. The extended duration of contracts underlines the importance of initiative-taking risk management. The variation in contractual deadlines highlights the need to manage changes in project requirements to avoid negative impacts on schedules, highlighting adaptability as essential. The detailed analysis of seven critical aspects in Transmilenio trunk contracts reveals the importance of effectively managing project complexity, deadline extensions, changes in scope, feasibility evaluations, financial commitments, operating conditions, and execution times. The risk matrix developed provides a practical tool for the identification and mitigation of specific risks. Therefore, a methodology is proposed based on the guidelines of the PMBOK seventh edition (PMI, 2021), the standard for risk management in portfolios, programs and projects (PMI 2022), NTC 31010 (ICONTEC, 2019) and the guide for the risk management process in rapid renovation projects, Molenaar, et al (2014), this methodology for the accurate identification of risks during initial phases. This methodology, supported by detailed contract analysis, offers an applicable approach for effective risk management in road infrastructure projects.

This Master’s thesis presents an alternative to the challenges of implementing Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) in road infrastructure projects. The main challenge arises from the interference with public utility networks, which limits the placement of various SUDS structures and their respective discharges. Therefore, a conceptual model is developed based on one of the SUDS typologies developed in the country. Bicycle lanes are chosen as the implementation element, and porous flexible and concrete pavements are employed as the rolling surface. To develop the model, an analysis of various global regulations that address the use of SUDS structures utilizing porous pavements as a filtering element was conducted. The aim was to determine the design processes and materials to be used in the structure and establish the layers that make up the SUDS structure. Once the design methodology was established, the layers comprising the structure were designed, including the filtering layer and the rolling surface. The latter was designed according to the technical criteria of national regulations to ensure that the proposed model complies with the country's technical requirements. In conclusion, considering that this type of SUDS structure has not been standardized in the country, a construction process is presented. This process considers the different stages required for the execution of such civil works, along with aspects related to maintenance and operation.

Hot-dense mixes today have some considerable drawbacks. Its manufacture at high temperatures implies a high energy consumption and considerable environmental pollution. In addition to the high manufacturing cost, these problems have led to the search for viable, effective and reasonable options to reduce environmental impacts. Likewise, the excessive exploitation of natural aggregates also causes a negative impact on the conservation of the natural environment. Therefore, it is interesting to use recycled concrete aggregates (ACR) to partially replace elements such as stone aggregates that make up the asphalt mix. In this context, the present study carried out an experimental period where the result of a recycled warm asphalt mix was evaluated. This mixture was manufactured by incorporating the HUSIL additive to the asphalt, as well as the partial replacement of 21% of the coarse fractions (½" and ¾" sieves) of the stone aggregate by ACR. The ACR was obtained in a waste separation plant authorized by the Urban Development Institute (IDU) in Bogotá D.C. Monotonic load tests were carried out, such as the Marshall and indirect tensile tests and dynamic load tests, which included the resilient modulus and Cantabrian wear. For the preparation of the mixtures, CA 60-70 asphalt was used, and the natural aggregate came from the CONCRESCOL S.A. asphalt plant. According to the answers obtained, it can be thought that a more efficient performance is obtained since it reduces the mixing temperature by 25°C, using the HUSIL additive and replacing 21% of the coarse fraction of the stone aggregate with ACR (replacing the ½" and ¾" sieves). Under these conditions, this product presents a significant increase in its hardness, both in monotonic and dynamic load. In addition, it presents a high resistance to the effect caused by humidity and a better capacity to resist permanent deformations in relation to the control mixture.

This research project focused on the analysis of the deterioration of a 50-kilometer concession road in the department of Antioquia, Colombia. Periodic measurements were taken for the four indicators that make up the flexible pavement condition index: International Roughness Index (IRI), rutting, percentage of area affected by cracks and fissures, and friction coefficient. The objective was to assess the pavement condition and predict probable non-compliance dates regarding the limit established in the concession contract. To achieve this, a methodology was developed that included road segmentation per kilometer and the processing and analysis of the collected data. Linear, exponential, and logarithmic regression models were applied to establish equations describing the behavior of each indicator over time. Additionally, a dynamic deterioration visualization tool was created, allowing road maintenance personnel to access and interactively analyze the deterioration data. This tool provided a graphical representation of the indicators per kilometer, showing probable non-compliance dates and associated regression equations. The results revealed that the majority of kilometers and lanes were in compliance with the deterioration limit established in the concession contract. However, critical sectors requiring continuous monitoring and proper intervention planning were identified. In conclusion, this project provided an understanding of deterioration behavior on the road and demonstrated the feasibility of shifting from reactive to predictive methodologies in road infrastructure maintenance. The developed visualization tool offered an opportunity to enhance road maintenance management and make proactive decisions, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable use of resources.

The main objective of this master's thesis work is to characterize Colombian air transport, and this objective is achieved through knowledge of the behavior of all the variables and indicators that are usually generated and managed in the air transport industry. For this task, a huge amount of data (Big Data) of air traffic (and of a historical nature, and obtained from the Colombian civil aviation authority - Aerocivil) is obtained, refined and managed through the so-called Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) (data mining technique), to finally present, analyze and evaluate the aforementioned indicators. The analysis of the different indicators is carried out in a historical context, that is, the behavior and development of said indicators over the last three decades. Finally, this study has taken into account the severe impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has generated on the development of air traffic in Colombia, and therefore on its main indicators.

The objective of this study is to analyze the road accident rate in critical points of the city of Tunja - Boyacá, for this, six critical points of the city were identified based on traffic accidents occurred between the years 2018 to 2021. Followed by this, a road safety inspection was performed by applying the methodological guide for the development of road safety audits and inspections for Colombia obtained from the Agencia Nacional de Seguridad Vial, from which checklists were used and the respective findings were determined in order to obtain the level of risk for each of the sections. Subsequently, the generalized linear mixed model combined with negative binomial was applied using RStudio software, which evaluates the factors that influence the frequency of traffic accidents, and a survey was conducted with 303 users in order to know their perspective on infrastructure and behavior regarding road safety in the city. Finally, measures are proposed to mitigate and/or reduce road accidents in the city in the sites identified as dangerous.
