Therefore, policy makers cannot make the best decisions with partial information on the state of the economy. This work seeks to identify the relationship between the underground economy, the economic cycle and corruption in Colombia. The underground economy incorporates i) unregistered legal activities, ii) tax evasion and iii) illegal activities. These types of occupations can interact with the performance of the registered economy, alter its growth and the well-being of the population. The high-frequency estimation of the underground economy allows policy makers to make optimal decisions. Likewise, the evidence aimed at showing the regional welfare state has focused on monetary measurements, which neglects other important aspects. Based on the estimation of the economic complexity index proposed by Hidalgo and Hausmann (2009), this research is aimed at analyzing the general evolution of development in the main regions of Colombia. Subsequently, through econometric estimates, it is intended to find the relationship of this indicator with some variables of economic development and in this way offer more and better public policy tools aimed at improving well-being, competitiveness and economic development at the regional level. For this purpose, the objective of the work is to analyze the incidence of three variables: migration, exchange rate and forms of financing on informal commerce in the cities of Maicao, Arauca and Cúcuta in 2018, and answer the research question on how these variables increase informality in commercial and foreign exchange activity. These three selected cities represent strategic points with the Venezuelan border and have high rates of informality and unemployment. From the methodological point of view, a cross-sectional model and a linear regression will be developed, based on surveys applied to 180 informal vendors in each city. It is expected to find a high incidence of migration, the exchange rate and drop-by-drop loans. the benefits of informal commerce. Finally, it will be evaluated if the public policy programs implemented in each city are aimed at improving the working conditions of street vendors and reducing informality. On the other hand, the forced displacement provoked by the Colombian armed conflict has generated repercussions that affect the quality of life of the population and, among them, the child population. Through the implementation of a new methodology for calculating poverty based on the application of Bayesian structural equations and analyzing the socio-economic impact of forced displacement on victims from a spatial perspective, the present project aims to analyze the effects that have the distance and characteristics of the place chosen by the victims forcibly displaced by the Colombian armed conflict on child poverty in this population.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Formas de financiación informal de los comerciantes informales en Colombia Casos: Cúcuta, Ibagué y Villavicencio(2020-10-02) Universidad Santo TomásThe objective of this article is to analyze the incidence of informal financing on the economic benefits of informal traders, located in Cúcuta, Villavicencio and Ibagué cities in 2017, for this purpose 490 surveys were randomly applied to informal vendors in the three cities, where it was found that many people resort to this type of loans, only to finance working capital activities and not to expand the size of their businesses, assuming high interest rates and daily payments; It was also shown that this form of financing did not have a positive effect on the profits of the merchants. In order to verify the objective of the research, a cross-section econometric model was carried out; only the informal vendors of the cities mentioned in the previous paragraph who had some form of financing were selected.
