Ítem Evaluación y modernización de estaciones base de antenas para la implementación de tecnologías móviles 4G y 5G en Colombia(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-03-06) Blanco Medrano, Santiago Esteban; Gelves, Elizabeth; Universidad Santo Tomas Seccional BucaramangaThis study addresses the evaluation and modernization of base stations for the implementation of 4G and 5G mobile technologies in Colombia, aiming to coordinate the identification and planning of the upgrade of critical devices such as antennas, transmission radios, and controller modules. To achieve this, audits of planning documents and antenna connections were conducted, along with detailed monitoring of field implementations. The methodology included reviewing planning documents, verifying technical configurations, and updating information in internal systems. Additionally, digital tools and specialized platforms were used for managing telecommunications infrastructure. Among the results obtained, a total of 315 planning audits, 137 antenna connection audits, and the monitoring of 264 base station implementations were conducted. These efforts optimized document management, reduced errors in network implementation, and improved the availability of information for technical teams. The conclusions highlight the importance of efficient management in the modernization of base stations, demonstrating a positive impact on the planning, operation, and maintenance of mobile networks. As part of the professional internship, an AI chatbot was designed using OpenAI and Google Apps Script, enabling the automation of prospect filtering and sales management through WhatsApp. Additionally, advanced Excel reports were created to analyze historical data on inventories and product performance, using both formulas and Visual Basic programming. The project also included the development of a mobile application in Kotlin with Firebase for inventory management, implementing user authentication and MVVM architecture with Jetpack Compose design. These solutions contributed significantly to improved decision-making and operational efficiency in the company. The document covers the phases of development, from conceptualization to implementation, and provides recommendations for future improvements in scalability and continuous monitoring. I was part of the Customer Support team, where I was an IT support engineer, responsible for performing follow-up tasks to the different cases related to the deployment of VMs servers. This work focuses on two important points, the management and maintenance of services related to virtual machines and the need for efficient technical support to ensure the correct functioning of the solutions delivered to the customer. Throughout the process, fundamental knowledge on virtualization, server management and resource monitoring were acquired, which were reinforced by observation and supervision in maintenance windows along with Customer Support engineers. In addition, information collection and analysis were conducted within the servers with the aim of identifying faults, verifying software version and running status analysis for each component. As part of the learning, open cases were continuously tracked in the technical support, which allowed for an understanding of the incident handling and resolution processes. Finally, the knowledge acquired was reinforced by a series of presentations to the team, in which the characteristics of the virtualized services, the hardware used to host them, their capabilities and failures were exposed. The objective of the internship was to support the development of technical and commercial skills of the wholesalers through training in pre-sales, post-sales, and sales, aiming to improve their ability to manage equipment and increase sales margins. The method involved conducting product and Huawei partner policy training sessions, as well as performing market analysis to understand the profile of potential clients, their current suppliers, and sales volumes. Internal Huawei processes were also overseen when wholesalers had business opportunities involving the company's solutions portfolio. The results showed an improvement in the commercial skills of the wholesalers, which helped increase competitiveness in the market. The discussion highlights that the success of the training relied not only on technical knowledge but also on the ability to apply this knowledge in effective commercial strategies. My work included collecting, analyzing and auditing essential data for the planning and optimization of the telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring that each site met the technical standards required for its correct implementation. For this, I used advanced tools such as NTELIVE and ISDP, Huawei's own platforms essential for the management and monitoring of the information of the sites in the different processes of the project. With their support, I made detailed reports on rejection cases and conditional approvals, which allowed an efficient follow-up and a quick response to the client's needs, thus optimizing the approval and execution times of the proposed solutions. In addition, we carried out the survey and monitoring of information in the field with innovative technologies, such as drones and 360 cameras, which improved the accuracy of the data and allowed for a more detailed assessment of each site. This facilitated decision-making to design solutions and ensure a more efficient implementation of the 5G network. The work performed contributed to the development of the telecommunications infrastructure, improving my knowledge in network analysis, project management and technology tools. Key projects included the implementation of biometric access control systems using ZKTeco and the development of an interactive dashboard connected to Hikvision for real-time monitoring of secure zones. The dashboard facilitates the visualization of critical events through heatmaps and charts, supporting analysis and decision-making. Additionally, a security camera monitoring system was developed to identify their real-time status, establishing the groundwork for integrating artificial intelligence in future phases. The main objective was to develop two technological applications to optimize administrative and academic processes in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education platforms. Python, the Flet framework, and web scraping techniques were used. The first application generated comprehensive reports from main categories in Moodle, including data on students, teachers, courses, and the status of virtual classrooms. The second automated the bulk downloading of files, organizing them into folders by platform. The results showed a significant reduction in data processing times and greater efficiency in resource management. Although the tools faced limitations related to user permissions and dependencies on Moodle's HTML, they proved to be effective solutions to operational problems. Utilizing a controlled setup with Mininet and ONOS, we established a network topology designed to simulate conditions vulnerable to cyber threats. Through the implementation of ARP topology poisoning, three fake hosts were introduced, compromising the integrity of network communications. Additionally, a Packet-In flood attack was executed, resulting in the failure of the ONOS controller, which underscored the challenges of managing network traffic under attack scenarios. The experiments demonstrated how SDN's centralized control architecture can be exploited, revealing significant vulnerabilities in handling malicious traffic. Initially, a Machine Learning project linked to the company's internal tools was planned, but due to access and data limitations, it was not possible to carry it out. Subsequently, it was proposed to create a Machine Learning algorithm for the prediction of numerical values, but this was also constrained by the lack of adequate data to evaluate its performance. Finally, the project arose from the idea of automating a tedious process within the company, which led to the development of a program to optimize the recording of hours worked. This document details the approach, objectives, justification, theoretical framework and development of the project.
