In this case, the working paper presents the incidence of personal and academic factors that have an impact on the dropout of students from the distance modality of the Santo Tomás University. The instruments in this initial exploratory research are the survey of perceptions on school dropout on the Likert scale and the DUAD 2022.1 Management report. In the initial results, 655 students in the first academic semester of 2022 lost the six academic spaces, 58% of the students stopped presenting the evaluation activities and 42% of the students did not enter the virtual classroom of the six academic English spaces. Therefore, in the perception survey the degree of importance of the teaching work in the academic process of the student in the distance modality is presentedÍtem Infografía – resultados convocatoria 833 de 2018 de Colciencias (Minciencias) Usta-Learning(2021-02-18) González Gil, Eduardo; Corchuelo Rodriguez, Camilo Alejandro; Ostos Ortiz, Olga Lucia; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001448002; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001526494; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000260010; https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=4tERbJwAAAAJ&hl=es; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=yCBpLUsAAAAJ&hl=es; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=M8jyWq8AAAAJ&hl=no; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5489-6602; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7692-1020; http://orcid.org/0000-0002-6477-9872The National Research and Innovation Directorate established as a knowledge communication strategy the dissemination through infographics of the results of the university's research groups in call 833 of 2018 of Colciencias (Minciencias). However, from the academic field, a paradigm worthy of being seen under the magnifying glass of theory and scientific experimentation emerges, and that is to identify how the resources provided by ICTs really support teaching and learning processes in the classroom; and even more, if these resources favor the development of communication skills in English under the mobile learning model. Given the above, this case study, qualitative and descriptive, aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of mobile learning strategies in the development of communication skills in English students at the Santo Tomás University. To achieve this, three important moments were defined. The first moment is to characterize some mobile learning tools such as software applications focused on developing competencies in a foreign language to identify their contributions to the teaching process, this will be done by applying the principles of Bloom's taxonomy. The second moment will be to implement a mobile learning strategy that makes it possible to demonstrate both the use of TACs and their effect. In this phase, data is collected from three sources: 1) Logs that report the use of the mobile tools selected by the research group and the development of the experience. 2) Structured survey through office tools in order to have relevant information on the intervened population. 3) Open interview with a focus group in order to have expanded and detailed information to later triangulate and thus analyze the effect of the implementation of said strategy. Finally, the final document will be prepared in which the project findings will be described.Ítem Impacto de las prácticas de evaluación formativa en el aprendizaje autogestionado de los estudiantes del programa de acuerdo 46 en los institutos de lenguas de la sede principal Bogotá y seccional Bucaramanga de la Universidad Santo Tomás(2019-08) Rodríguez, Edgar; Caro, Yuribia; Bernal, Diana; Villamizar Castrillón, Leidy Johanna; Jaimes Sandoval, Libia Ximena; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000132391; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000912646; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001374114; https://scienti.colciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000090851; https://scienti.colciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001725405; https://scholar.google.es/citations?hl=es&user=GsEl7tQAAAAJ&view_op=list_works&sortby=title; https://scholar.google.es/citations?hl=es&user=JETenR8AAAAJ; https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=TXnyUmAAAAAJ&hl=es; https://scholar.google.es/citations?hl=es&view_op=list_works&gmla=AJsN-F5blQek17iG9P8naPepgvjZkjb9Oa3dThq2BYLb2I0FwwXnoLXhmLa2NLNKlqRVb-iBJ8DgXlGCKaJrC-9jJBkizSQTDAIbJZFZyh2zuAZ13Xau5J4&user=UFjLwqsAAAAJ; https://scholar.google.es/citations?view_op=new_profile&hl=es; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0785-4530; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9151-9681; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5733-6531; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7933-5756; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2161-0388The evaluation system of the USTA language institute has seen important changes in which a greater weight has been given in the evaluation to training activities, reducing the value of the summative evaluation, despite this, a lack of monitoring the independent work of the students to obtain information on how effective and significant this work can be in the apprentices. Consequently, this research project seeks to analyze and evaluate the impact of formative assessment practices on the independent work of students in the agreement program 46 of the Language Institutes of the Bogotá and Bucaramanga headquarters. The concepts of self-regulated learning and formative assessment will be reviewed in the conceptual framework. In order to answer the research question and the proposed objectives, a qualitative research will be carried out taking the principles of action research as the main reference for the implementation of the project. Regarding the methodological route, in the first instance, there will be a diagnostic exercise for the participants to identify their weaknesses; Subsequently, the formative evaluation activities will be implemented. During this process, the data will be collected through reflection diaries, semi-structured interviews and samples of the activities of the participants. Finally, the systematization, triangulation and analysis of the data will be done. It is hoped that with the project's findings, the participants will strengthen their decision-making capacity about what to do to improve their performance and, as a result of this Multicampus proposal, there will be an improvement in the language level of the participants.Ítem Inscripciones latinas en el complejo histórico de Santa Cruz de Mompox, Cartagena de Indias y Santa Marta(2018-06-01) Bonilla Malaver, Rosa Angela; Vargas Mazo, Wilmer Andres; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001400697; https://scienti.colciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000122584; https://scholar.google.es/citations?view_op=list_works&hl=es&user=2hqaRhoAAAAJ; https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=es&user=9KIe-8wAAAAJ; https://scienti.colciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000008455; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7648-684X; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5655-3814The following research managed to identify the existence of Latin inscriptions inside the historical and cultural centers in Santa Marta, Cartagena and Santa Cruz de Mompox. Inscriptions which have survived through the history and have reminded in a collective memory of our own nation, have become a space for a linguistic, social and cultural reflection around the Latin language presence in Colombian history. We have constructed a corpus of Latin inscriptions under the historic reference of the places when the information was found. It configures a Latin stay in the coast zone of the national territory. It also became a valuable instrument for the recognition of the cultural and social constructs in Colombia.Ítem Estrategias de enseñanza mediadas por TIC en entornos virtuales de los Institutos de Lenguas en la USTA, Colombia, sedes Villavicencio y Bucaramanga(2017) González Robayo, Lucimaver; Blanco Rios, Marylin; Vargas Ayala, Sandra Rocío; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001346110; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000013774; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000085158; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8085/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000008455; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6767-2229; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9417-4962The current research proposal is designed to characterize teaching strategies mediated by ICT in virtual learning environments at USTA, Villavicencio and Bucaramanga. The highest failure and repetition rates correspond to levels one and two. The Instituto de Lenguas has addressed this problem by implementing two types of tutorials, regular tutorials in which students get an academic reinforcement in groups according to the level they attend, and the special tutorials, in which they work individually on the course contents the student needs. This paper presents a strategy that promotes autonomous learning in students who failed or are repeating the first levels of English. The proposal is framed in the taxonomy of strategies and learning styles proposed by Oxford (1990), the methodology for instruction in learning strategies designed by O’Malley and Chamot (1990), the characteristics of communicative competence by Canale’s and Swain (1980), and the workshop methodology by Maya (1996). In the implementation of the proposal some workshops were designed, in which students identified their particular learning style and were trained in the language learning strategies use, focused on each one of the communicative skills. From a qualitative perspective, it has been shown that students show a better predisposition to learn a foreign language when they have the appropriate tools to deal with the tasks during the development of communicative skills, which has a good impact on their academic performance.Ítem Juegos teatrales en latín: una perspectiva formativa en lenguas clásicas con proyección académica y social(2017) Bonilla Malaver, Rosa Ángela; Arciniegas Vega, Hernán Antonio; Canedo Castro, Miguel Guillermo; Hurtado Ballestas, Hernando Enrique; Salas Restrepo, Johan Andres; Asprilla, Famer; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001400697; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001583490; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001585866; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001587677; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001583934; https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=2hqaRhoAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=odla070AAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8085/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000008455; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9493-4151Elaborating Theatre games in the latin language becomes the central activity of the academic agenda. A preliminary research about the historical, cultural and literary world was carried out to determine the thematic unity in depth with its main components. The epic, lyric, tragedy and comedy, was tackled from its most important writers and a subsequent comparative study of these literary genres was our starting point in the development of this teaching strategy chosen above. From reading, morphological analysis and writing that develops around the selected work, the mnemonic learning, expressiveness and orality in the staging of the work in Latin, students were able to immerse themselves in the world of the Latin language and its own projection to the academic community.Ítem Hacia el diseño de un material didáctico de ELE enmarcado en el contexto cultural colombiano(2017) Bernal León, Diana Marcela; Caro, Yuribia Andrea; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001374114; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8081/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000912646; https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=l5WHP6MAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=GsEl7tQAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; http://scienti.colciencias.gov.co:8085/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000008455; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5733-6531; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9151-9681According to the Español: una lengua viva report from the Cervantes Institute (2016), the courses of Spanish as a foreign language have increased their number of students in a progressive way. Therefore; the creation of didactic materials becomes an essential tool to support the Spanish language teaching process. In addition, the National Development Plan 2010-2014, numeral 61, has done efforts to foster Colombia as an ideal destination to be a competent Spanish speaker. In this process the government´s main allied has been the Caro y Cuervo Institute. This presentation is part of a research project whose general objective is the design of a didactic material book that teachers from the Fray Bernardo de Lugo Institute are currently working on.
