In this context, it has been considered that teachers have knowledge about their craft that arises from their daily practice (Tardif 2005), coming to propose that teaching knowledge has a pragmatic character, since it is born from the concrete situations of the teacher's trade. On the other hand, research on teaching has coincided in stating that the exercise of teaching occurs in situations where which the total predictability of the actions is not possible, so that the teaching work is unfolds in a tension between the contingencies that are faced and the ends that are they pursue through action. With these motivations, it will be investigated how universities are preparing or transforming to respond to the new demands of the changing and uncertain culture, different from what is required for the modern university. Having chosen in the research the pedagogical approach used in the universities in the search for the quality of their academic programs indicates that there is more than one approach, although, in the observation of quality improvement programs, recommended by the government and the Most universities could verify the constant reduction to one. A diagnosis of higher education in Colombia is made.
