The identified problem revealed significant delays in the preparation and follow-up of quotations, as well as an increase in the percentage of rejected quotations, which rose from 6.32% to 65.99% over the past three years, affecting competitiveness and customer satisfaction. The research was conducted under a mixed-method approach, with an applied and descriptive design, using the DMAIC cycle (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). Throughout the different phases, Lean Six Sigma tools such as SIPOC, Pareto diagram, cause-and-effect diagram (Ishikawa), 5S methodology, and the A3 analysis sheet were used to identify and prioritize the root causes of the problem, mainly associated with rework, unproductive time, and lack of standardization in the commercial process. As a result, an AppSheet application was implemented to digitalize and automate the quotation management process, integrating intelligent forms, a centralized database, traceability, and real-time tracking. The proposal significantly reduced response times, facilitated access to information, standardized the workflow, and improved internal communication among the involved areas. Quantitatively, a 91.11% reduction in the average cycle time and a 76.92% decrease in errors were achieved, along with the complete elimination of pricing-related issues and full automation of process activities. It is concluded that technological integration based on Lean Six Sigma principles enhances operational efficiency and promotes continuous improvement in administrative processes within service companies.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Desarrollo e implementación un sistema IoT embebido en el microcontrolador Esp32 para la gestión de sensores y actuadores en modo AP (Punto de acceso) y STA (Estación)(2025-12-01) Triviño Torres, Luis Carlos; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001406510; https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=es&user=UEBWV88AAAAJ; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000019947; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0775-6460Development and Implementation of an Embedded IoT System on the ESP32 Microcontroller for Sensor and Actuator Management in AP (Access Point) and STA (Station) Modes This project, led by the Ciberondas research group of the Computer Engineering program at Universidad Santo Tomás, is framed within the growing relevance of the Internet of Things (IoT), which has transformed interactions with devices and environments. Keywords: Industrial efficiency; food reformulation; nutritional labeling; operational costs; production sustainability.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Plan de mejora en el proceso de distribución de pedidos en la empresa Pintura Tropical Imperkolor de la ciudad de Villavicencio para el año 2025(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-14) Aldana Bermudez, Brayan Estevan; Mosquera Benito, Andres Felipe; Vargas Pineda, Oscar Ivan; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001539970; https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=z57El9wAAAAJ&hl=es; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000019947; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6462-4264Pinturas Tropical Imperkolor Company, located in the city of Villavicencio, has high gasoline consumption because it doesn’t have a tool to optimize the logistics management of its deliveries. The company doesn’t evaluate the viability of each order based on factors like distance, transportation costs, and profitability. This causes inefficient deliveries, an increase of operational costs, and a decrease in net profits. The main goal of this project is to implement an improvement alternative in the order distribution process to reduce gasoline costs in 2025 in Villavicencio and nearby towns. The selected methodology is DMAIC, which has five phases: Define, where the problems and objectives are identified; Measure, which includes data collection of the current process; Analyze, to find the key variables that affect delivery viability; Improve, which consist of developing and implementing a system to analyze each order considering profitability and transportation costs; and Control, which evaluate the results of the implementation and adjusts the system to guarantee its effectiveness. The proposed system will use a traffic light system to decide if an order is viable or not, comparing the profit of the order with the transportation cost. If the cost is higher than 10% of the profit, the order will not be authorized, and other strategies will be applied.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Diseño e implementación de una aplicación web para el control de inventarios de la Distribuidora el Buen Sabor VR S.A.S en la ciudad de Villavicencio para el año 2025(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-01-13) Ramos Ardila, Paula Valeria; Porto Ruiz, Juan José; Gonzalez Garzón, Jhon Alexander; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000036254; https://scholar.google.es/citations?view_op=list_works&hl=es&hl=es&user=umj9l4sAAAAJ; https://orcid.org/0009-0002-9999-2822Process optimization has ceased to be merely a concept and has consolidated itself as a guiding principle inherent in every productive process or activity. There is no company that does not integrate continuous improvement as an essential part of its operation, since there is always something to enhance and strengthen within the organization. In this regard, efficiency emerges as an unavoidable premise that gains particular relevance in the food sector, where proper inventory management and waste reduction are decisive factors to ensure competitiveness and growth in a dynamic and highly demanding environment. The present work aimed to design a web application to optimize inventory control at Distribuidora El Buen Sabor VR S.A.S., located in Villavicencio, due to its reliance on manual records, an obsolete system, and the lack of clear control policies, which caused losses of nearly 54% of the monthly inventory. Expired products accounted for 95% of the defects, representing the most critical factor in the losses. To address this issue, the Lean Six Sigma methodology was applied under the DMAIC cycle (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control), which allowed mapping of the current process and structuring a path for improvement. As a result, the implementation led to a digital tool that integrates product registration, physical counts, defect control, and real-time reports. Combined with the application of the 5S methodology, it not only optimized product management but also improved visual control and process standardization in the warehouse, providing a more reliable, efficient, and sustainable control model for the distributor.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Estudio de caso acerca de la estandarización de los procesos de reparación de sistemas de inyección diésel electrónicos en un Laboratorio Diésel, utilizando la metodología Lean Manufacturing y Lean Six Sigma(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-12-15) Herrera Carvajal, Jaider Adamed; Jaramillo Garzon, Valeria; Gutierrez Romero, Diana Paola; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001685748; https://scholar.google.es/citations?hl=es&user=Sgn8V2gAAAAJ&view_op=list_works&authuser=1&gmla=AJsN-F4c3TnMkYoecKTHGoNq-siNHu2kxe_RZE02cTpGUcVX8wTqsy0af57D2mChCXR2VJ0b4cWCt6znwJhIYwyT3ynYDufwy9Spa7WU0hRjOFNhy6Dxo7A; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1397-3042This degree project presents the development of a case study aimed at improving the repair process of electronic diesel injectors at Laboratorio Diesel Solution, located in Villavicencio. Using tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, and kaizen, the company will optimize the management of medical consultations, reduce waiting times, and improve the utilization of medical resources. This is expected to increase patient satisfaction and reduce operational costs. Lean Healthcare is an approach that applies Lean principles, originally developed for manufacturing, to the healthcare industry. The main goal is to maximize value for the patient while simultaneously reducing waste. By applying these methods in hospitals, clinics, and medical centers, we strive to improve operational efficiency and the quality of care. One of the fundamental tools of Lean Healthcare is value stream mapping, which allows for the visualization of the flow of information and materials within a process, helping to identify waste. In a hospital, for example, it can track the entire process from the patient’s arrival to their care, identifying unnecessary steps that can be eliminated to optimize patient care. Another key tool is the 5S approach, which aims to organize and standardize care delivery. The work environment goes through five steps: sorting, organizing, cleaning, standardizing, and sustaining. This increases efficiency and reduces the time needed to acquire tools and materials, while also creating a safer and more pleasant working environment for medical staff.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Desarrollo de un algoritmo automatizado para el análisis y la predicción de precios en la bolsa mercantil de colombia mediante el lenguaje de programación de python, con proyección al año 2020.(2025-06-16) Gamba Silva, Veronica; Isao Brauzin, Karol Fabiana; Adriana Amelia, Céspedes Orjuela; Universidad Santo Tomas; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002037717; https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=luIPfswAAAAJ&hl=es; https://scholar.google.es/citations?view_op=list_works&hl=es&user=ZmEsn18AAAAJ; https://scholar.google.com/citations?authuser=6&user=PqFIZGkAAAAJ; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000019947; https://orcid.org/0009-0001-5101-9022; https://orcid.org/my-orcid?orcid=0009-0003-6854-8179&justRegistered=true; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002037717This project proposes the development of an automated algorithm in Python to analyze and forecast price trends in Colombia's Bolsa Mercantil. This was in response to the need to modernize its administrative processes and adapt to the challenges of Industry 4.0. The company previously performed its invoicing manually, which led to errors, delays, and difficulties in managing sales and customers. Automation reduced the time required for repetitive tasks, consolidated a structured customer base, and facilitated decision-making with reliable information. The methodology used was both observational and applicative. In the observational phase, manual invoicing processes were considered, and in the applicative phase, a Python algorithm was designed and implemented in Google Colab. This system processed historical data, optimized processes, calculated invoices, and automatically generated electronic invoices. In addition, a user manual was developed with instructions for optimal operation. Automation not only improved the efficiency of the invoicing process but also represented a step forward for the company's digital journey. The implementation allowed a process that used to take 20 minutes to be completed in 5 or 10 minutes, generating faster work, fewer errors, and clearer information for decision-making. It also strengthened an important aspect such as customer inventory control, preparing the company to face future challenges. This consumes valuable resources, both time and money, which can have serious economic consequences for companies. In this context, this thesis aims to develop a sales prediction model using machine learning techniques. This model will facilitate decision-making regarding import timing and costs, in addition to preventing lost sales. The objective is to offer a solution that improves the accuracy of sales projections, considering that any margin of error could significantly affect financial results. In a highly competitive business environment, identifying patterns and relationships between indicators and sales is a key asset for a company's success. By implementing accurate and efficient sales forecasts, organizations not only recover losses but also drive sustainable growth, strengthening informed decision-making. The methodology used includes the selection of Machine Learning samples based on previously researched techniques, incorporating relevant variables from both the business environment and the external context. The sample obtained will be structured and processed in a Python IDLE environment, such as Google Colab. After data normalization, which is a crucial step to ensure all variables are on a comparable scale and facilitate model training, a thorough statistical analysis will be carried out. This analysis allows for the identification of significant patterns and relationships in the data that may influence sales predictions and establishes the data structure so that the models can learn effectively. Once the data is ready, several Machine Learning models, such as the Decision Tree, will be selected and trained. These models will be trained on one dataset and tested on another to assess their predictive capacity. The testing process will consist of comparing the model's predictions with actual sales figures or stock quotes. To measure the model's accuracy, metrics such as mean square error (MSE) and mean absolute error (MAE) will be used. Once the model is validated, the results will be presented through functional Python code, executed in tools such as Google Colab. The code will include instructions for running the model and visualizing the results, and a detailed guide will be provided to facilitate its use, even for users without experience in machine learning. This methodology ensures that the model is practical and applicable in real-world environments, helping organizations improve inventory management and sales forecasting using reliable data.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Reising Ruta, explora y disfruta de los tesoros turísticos del departamento del Meta(2025-02-03) Hernandez Velásquez, Angy Valentina; Rojas Melo, Juan Sebastian; Gonzales, Jhon; Universidad Santo Tomas; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000036254; https://scholar.google.es/citations?hl=es&view_op=list_works&gmla=AJsN-F5zohUw5C2A9JrZhN_LLgbhJEobAkJwcBghpsujCe7U7vS5kwVNIpsgKtE0Pe5YOkRdr0GdoWsJW6br2WdjL_TFmGt4NIsspJDioQ-6YZxj4kpxILA&user=umj9l4sAAAAJ; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/gruplac/jsp/visualiza/visualizagr.jsp?nro=00000000019947; https://orcid.org/0009-0002-9999-2822Reising Ruta focuses on the operation and commercialization of eco-adventure destinations to provide personalized tourist experiences in the Meta region.
