The research was conducted using a mixed-methods approach, with a non-experimental design and a correlational scope, allowing for the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative variables related to the organization’s strategic management. Initially, an organizational diagnosis was carried out through semi-structured interviews with top management, complemented by document analysis. The findings revealed weaknesses in strategic planning, the absence of management indicators, and decision-making processes primarily based on experience rather than data analysis. However, key strengths were also identified, including industry experience, technical capabilities, and a diversified service portfolio. Based on these findings, a strategic plan was developed, including the redefinition of mission, vision, and strategic objectives, as well as the implementation of control tools such as management indicators and the Balanced Scorecard approach. Subsequently, a phased intervention process was structured to enable its gradual implementation within the organization. The results demonstrate significant improvements in planning, internal communication, process alignment, and decision-making. In conclusion, the implementation of the strategic plan contributed to transforming the organizational management of SINGTELEC S.A.S., consolidating a more structured, efficient, and sustainability-oriented model.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Red Urbana de Huertas Como Alternativa de Economía Verde y Estrategia Sostenible de Seguridad Alimentaria en Comunidades Vulneradas de Floridablanca y Aguachica(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-03-20) Bravo Santos, Libia Marcela; Bracho Colina, Erimar Carolina; Universidad Santo TomasThe study analyzes the relevance of an urban gardening network as an alternative green economy model and as a sustainable food security strategy in vulnerable communities in Floridablanca and Aguachica. Food insecurity in Colombia has worsened due to factors such as structural poverty, dependence on imports, and low agricultural productivity, critically affecting vulnerable groups, as evidenced by reports from the National Planning Department (DNP) and international organizations; to propose an urban gardening network that integrates economic, social, and environmental dimensions in order to strengthen food security and promote sustainable agroecological practices in the territories under study. Method: A qualitative approach was applied, with a descriptive, bibliographic, non-experimental cross-sectional design, using documentary review and interviews with key informants, specifically managers of the Asohelechales urban garden in Floridablanca, in order to understand local experiences, perceptions, and practices related to urban agriculture. Results: Critical conditions of vulnerability were identified, stemming from armed conflict, migration, socioeconomic inequality, and gaps in basic services; the potential of urban gardens to enhance social cohesion, generate food savings, strengthen local capacities, and promote solidarity-based economic processes was confirmed. The findings demonstrate that urban gardens represent a viable strategy for advancing toward sustainable food security, provided there is technical support, organizational strengthening, and alignment with public policies. The Asohelechales experience highlights that community organization, local leadership, and environmental education are key pillars for scaling these models into broader territorial networks.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Análisis de viabilidad para la constitución de la unidad de licores del Meta como empresa industrial y comercial del estado.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-12-19) Garces Penagos, Emma Rosa; Rodríguez Acevedo, Jessica Mileidy; Bassi González, Nathalia Gioconda; Sierra Tobón, Julieth Andrea; Universidad Santo Tómás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001683301; https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=es&user=6lGj-K8AAAAJThe Unidad de Licores del Meta (ULM), a departmental entity responsible for the production and marketing of liquors, has faced persistent challenges that compromise its stability and competitiveness. This research analyzes the viability of its transformation into an Industrial and Commercial Company of the State (EICE) as a solution to this problem. The study reveals a structural dysfunction, where the administrative and financial autonomy granted by law is nullified in practice by political and budgetary dependence. This analysis is validated in the financial planning, which demonstrates that any projected accounting profit becomes an illusion, as all revenues must be transferred to the departmental treasury, preventing reinvestment and condemning the entity to an annual cycle of decapitalization. Therefore, the study concludes that adopting the EICE model is an indispensable strategic measure. The viability of this change lies in the fact that it attacks the root of the problem: it would grant the ULM independent capital and the real financial autonomy to retain and reinvest its profits. This mechanism is the only way for the company to strengthen itself, leverage its growth, and compete effectively, a model of success already proven by other leading Colombian liquor companies such as FLA and ILC.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Plan de marketing para el posicionamiento de la marca Sr. Donuts en la ciudad de Villavicencio.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-07-10) Lozano Forero, Arlin Dayana; Trujillo Riveros, Marly Paola; González Arias, María Camila; Silva Manrique, Martha Ximena; Ariza Pinilla, Harold Leonardo; Universidad Santo Tómás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001657299; https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=es&user=e9qp60MAAAAJ&view_op=list_works&gmla=AETOMgH_Nl7ItmIdH61tD0qAT3Klv_8DWlqqh57t6NvCrkESWluvTm4XDmTfrQdtLm0OECRqOn1Kcw3rFgo0NVg6_O4klfI8Kwft0P8C; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6085-3660Sr. Donuts was founded in 2021 in Villavicencio, Colombia, as an entrepreneurial initiative dedicated to the production and sale of artisanal donuts. Although it initially achieved positive acceptance within a specific market niche, the brand has faced challenges in consolidating its positioning and expanding its market share locally. This study aims to design a comprehensive marketing strategy to increase brand visibility, strengthen its value proposition, and contribute to sales growth. The research followed a mixed-method approach with an exploratory, cross-sectional, and non-experimental design. Semi-structured interviews and surveys were conducted with a representative sample of social media followers, complemented by a financial analysis to assess the business’s viability. The study included an examination of the competitive environment, market segmentation, and consumer behavior, leading to the formulation of strategies based on the 7Ps marketing model, digital marketing tools, and storytelling techniques. The projected results indicate that implementing the proposed plan could enhance brand recognition, foster customer loyalty, and expand Sr. Donuts into new distribution channels. Additionally, the plan is expected to have a positive impact on the business’s profitability and sustainability, as well as on local economic development. This work contributes to the strategic marketing management of emerging ventures in the food and beverage sector, offering a replicable model for similar contexts.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Análisis de la sostenibilidad (ambiental, social y económica) del ecoturismo en el corregimiento de Tutunendo, Quibdó.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-02-05) Ortiz Muñoz, Daniela; Cueto Fuentes, Eduardo Nicolas; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000860930; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001701450; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=WnQLGoUAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2125-6828This research analyzes the sustainability of ecotourism in the township of Tutunendo, Quibdó. The central problem identified using the Vester matrix method lies in the poor management of tourism planning processes. The methodology adopted employed a mixed-methods approach, with an explanatory scope and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, combining document analysis and surveys of establishments and tourists in the township of Tutunendo, Quibdó. The results show that the ecotourism model implemented in Tutunendo has not yet achieved comprehensive sustainability, as environmental, social, and economic actions are carried out in a fragmented manner. In the environmental dimension, basic conservation practices predominate without the support of management plans or monitoring programs. In the social sphere, job creation stands out, but with low community participation and limited inter-institutional integration. In the economic component, informality and the lack of institutional support limit the destination's competitiveness. The proposal includes the implementation of a Comprehensive Environmental Management Plan, the strengthening of training in sustainable tourism, the creation of a community network, and the consolidation of an Inter-institutional Committee for Sustainable Ecotourism. These actions would allow progress toward a participatory governance model that promotes environmental conservation, social inclusion, and sustainable economic development in the Tutunendo district.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Análisis integral de la sostenibilidad corporativa de las empresas tipo canteras en el Valle de Aburrá(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-23) García Pérez, Andrés David; Cueto Fuentes, Eduardo Nicolas; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000860930; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002406863; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=WnQLGoUAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2125-6828This study analyzes the environmental compliance conditions of quarry companies in the Aburrá Valley, aiming to identify the factors that facilitate or hinder the implementation of mitigation measures and sustainable management practices. The research followed a qualitative–cross-sectional approach, using semi-structured interviews, focus groups with entrepreneurs, and documentary analysis, which enabled an in-depth understanding of the perceptions, practices, and tensions that arise in the interaction between companies, environmental authorities, and local communities. The results reveal significant operational heterogeneity and limited formalization within the sector, evidenced by the fact that more than half of the companies do not hold a valid environmental license. Structural barriers were identified, including high compliance costs, regulatory complexity, insufficient institutional support, and technological gaps. Although some companies adopt environmental practices such as dust control and waste management, these measures tend to be partial and do not constitute comprehensive environmental management systems. The study also shows that community pressure and territorial conditions strongly influence the adoption of mitigation actions, while the relationship with authorities is often perceived as punitive rather than supportive. The conclusions confirm that environmental performance in the quarry sector depends on the interplay between internal capacities, regulatory clarity, institutional governance, and social dynamics. Finally, recommendations are presented to strengthen interinstitutional coordination, promote technological modernization, and consolidate technical assistance processes that enable progress toward more sustainable environmental management aligned with the needs of the territory.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Análisis sobre el control fiscal ambiental de la contraloría general de Antioquia(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-02-05) Chávez Ramírez, Natalia Eugenia; Cueto Fuentes, Eduardo Nicolás; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000860930; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=WnQLGoUAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2125-6828This study, entitle Analysis of Environmental Fiscal Oversight by the Contraloría General de Antioquia (Office of the Comptroller General of Antioquia), provides a comprehensive understanding of the oversight process and generates inputs to strengthen the comptroller´s role in environmental protection. Its purpose is to promote a more responsible and efficient management of natural resources through audits that adhere to the principles of efficiency, economy, equity, and the assessment of environmental costs. The results of the analysis reveal that, although the Office of the Comptroller General of Antioquia has made progress in exercising environmental fiscal oversight, it still faces challenges that require institutional strengthening, such as methodological updating and the comprehensive reinforcement of technical, human, and financial resources. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that strengthening environmental fiscal oversight is essential to improving public environmental management and ensuring the proper use of financial resources allocated to the protection of the department’s natural assets. The research offers recommendations aimed at continuous improvement, the implementation of additional oversight instruments, and the consolidation of a preventive approach that promotes the achievement of verifiable environmental outcomes.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Plan de negocio para la creación de una empresa productora de Yogurt Griego artesanal y natural con enfoque de género en el municipio de Floridablanca, Santander.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-29) Ramírez Ortega, Daniel; Valdivieso Ramírez, Sergio; Bracho Colina, Erimar Carolina; Universidad Santo TomásThe purpose of this study is to develop a business plan for the creation of an artisanal and natural Greek yogurt production company with a gender-focused approach, located in the municipality of Floridablanca, Santander. This initiative responds to the increasing demand for healthy, natural, and locally produced foods, as well as to the need to promote business models that incorporate gender equity as a transversal axis of economic and social development. To achieve the general objective, specific objectives were established, including the development of a market study, a technical analysis of the production process, the description of the administrative structure and applicable legal framework, and the analysis of the financial elements required for the implementation and sustainability of the business.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Estudio de los niveles de confianza y expectativas de los empresarios del sector de las agencias de viaje de Bogotá, a partir del cambio de gobierno nacional del año 2022(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-21) Cifuentes Castro, Sergio Leandro Bebeto; Contreras Cuesta, Jairo Enrique; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001352021; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=uZJiHXsAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4419-915XThe analysis focuses on the levels of confidence and expectations of travel agency entrepreneurs in Bogotá following the national government change in 2022. Its relevance lies in the lack of sector-specific indicators and in the strategic role of agencies as key players in the tourism value chain in Colombia. A contextualization of tourism in the country is presented, highlighting the main economic and labor results, along with the participation of travel agencies in Bogotá’s tourism dynamics. Subsequently, surveys were applied to sector entrepreneurs with the purpose of building a sectoral confidence index. This indicator was compared with benchmarks such as those developed by Fedesarrollo and DANE, and contrasted with economic variables associated with tourism, including sectoral GDP, employment, and nominal income. Findings show that, despite progress in formalization, employment, and post-pandemic recovery, there remains a perception of uncertainty linked to the political environment, security, and government-driven reforms. In conclusion, travel agencies acknowledge improvements in investment and demand but maintain cautious expectations regarding the country’s economic future. This underscores the need to promote clear and stable public policies, alongside business strategies focused on innovation, digitalization, and sustainability, in order to strengthen confidence in this key subsector of Colombian tourism.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , La Construccion de Vivienda Modular Sostenible en Contenedores Marítimos: un Modelo Innovador en el Departamento de Boyacá.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-12-26) Torres Reyes Juan Camilo; Jiménez Herrera Adriana; Universidad Santo TomasModular housing using shipping containers has emerged in the last two decades as a sustainable, rapid, and economically competitive architectural alternative to traditional construction methods. This review article aims to analyze the main advances and trends in modular housing using shipping containers, in order to identify its contributions as an innovative business and sustainable construction model applicable to the Colombian context. An academic review of this topic is necessary to identify the advances and contributions documented by researchers worldwide to understand how containers are consolidating as a sustainable housing solution and how their benefits could be transferred to the Colombian context. This review article provides a comprehensive overview that goes beyond case descriptions, allowing for a discussion of the relevance of these constructions in Colombia, particularly in Boyacá. The study addresses the inherent limitations of the traditional posterior and selective fiscal control model, which relies on historical data. AI is proposed as a necessary element to enable a shift towards a continuous and proactive audit model. The methodology employed a mixed and exploratory approach, utilizing a structured questionnaire administered to an optimal sample of 48 CGA Auditing officials. The findings highlight a cultural paradox: over 51% of officials have autonomously integrated AI tools for task optimization and agility, yet over 90% report having a medium-low or very low level of knowledge concerning these technologies. The primary barriers to institutional adoption are the lack of training and appropriation (35.29%) and a high perceived risk (73%) regarding information security. AI implementation is deemed a strategic imperative, sanctioned by regulatory frameworks such as CONPES 4144 of 2025, and is crucial for enhanced data governance and addressing cultural resistance.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Relación intrínseca entre el marketing y la innovación en las empresas: Análisis documental fundamentado.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-18) Jose Luis, Cañon Hernandez; Jarro Sisa, Mauricio Alejandro; Universidad Santo tomasThe intrinsic relationship between marketing and innovation in companies is a widely studied topic due to its significant impact on business success and sustainability. In this way, through the document developed, these concepts are related and it is possible to conclude that this analysis reveals the fundamental importance of marketing and innovation as strategic pillars for the success and sustainability of companies in the contemporary competitive environment.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Consultoría para el diseño de un modelo de gestión para la fidelización del capital humano de la contraloría general de Antioquia(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2026-01-22) Máquez Vásquez, Yeli Milena; Cueto Fuentes, Eduardo Nicolá; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000860930; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002417801; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=WnQLGoUAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2125-6828The objective of this research was to design a management model aimed at fostering human capital loyalty within the Office of the Comptroller General of Antioquia, recognizing employees as the institution’s main asset. Their motivation, commitment, and sense of belonging directly influence the efficiency of fiscal oversight. The study identified weaknesses in human talent management, such as the absence of clear motivation policies, the lack of professional development plans, and an unfavorable organizational climate. Additional factors, including perceptions of corruption, insufficient knowledge management, and low alignment with institutional objectives, negatively affect employee commitment. A mixed-method approach was employed, with a non-experimental design and explanatory scope. Surveys were administered to 317 employees to gather perceptions regarding recognition, internal communication, motivation, and opportunities for professional growth. Findings revealed that 42.3% of employees feel fully valued, though communication and development gaps persist. High staff turnover and a negative perception of the institution by users were also noted. Proposed solutions include the implementation of a professional development plan with internal training, job rotation, and mentoring; strengthening organizational communication through dynamic channels and continuous feedback; adopting a hybrid work policy to promote work–life balance; and introducing wellness and emotional salary programs to reinforce motivation and commitment. The study concludes that fostering human capital loyalty is essential to reduce turnover, improve productivity, and strengthen public trust. The proposed management model, based on motivation, communication, professional development, and well-being, represents a strategic path to balance employee satisfaction with institutional efficiency.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Estudio de viabilidad para la implementación de los principios y criterios (PyC) del estándar rspo en la empresa Multipalma SAS, municipio de San Carlos de Guaroa, Meta.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-10-07) Orjuela Simbacica, Oscar Ivan; Rojas Fernández, Javier Esteban; Ortega Sánchez, Beatriz Alejandra; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001692642; https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=_GnUfgcAAAAJ&hl=es; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9038-6407The main objective of this study was to assess the feasibility of implementing the principles and criteria (PYC) established by the RSPO standard (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) at the company Multipalma S.A.S., located in the La Palmera Inspection, in the municipality of San Carlos de Guaroa, in the department of Meta. The research conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the company, covering administrative, environmental, and social aspects, and culminated in the development of an action plan focused on implementing the RSPO standards, along with an evaluation of the costs and benefits associated with this implementation. The analysis covered three key areas: administration, environment, and social aspects. In terms of administration, the company’s internal management was assessed, identifying opportunities to strengthen traceability and transparency processes. In the environmental domain, the sustainable practices the company had already adopted were reviewed, and measures were defined to optimize the management of natural resources and promote biodiversity conservation. Regarding the social aspect, the company’s commitment to the well-being of local communities was highlighted, as well as the importance of strengthening relationships with neighboring populations, with a focus on respecting labor rights and improving living conditions. Based on this diagnosis, an action plan was proposed, including various initiatives in each of the three areas. In the administrative area, it was recommended to implement a management system that enables full traceability of the supply chain. In the environmental domain, actions aimed at improving the conservation of natural resources, such as reforestation and sustainable soil management, were suggested. In the social domain, strategies were established to enhance the development of neighboring communities, focusing on education, health, and strengthening labor rights. Regarding the feasibility of fully implementing the RSPO standard, it was concluded that, although the company is committed to improving its sustainability, an integrated implementation of the standard in the short and medium term requires a more detailed evaluation and a gradual approach. It was recommended that the company continue advancing in the improvement of its sustainable practices and explore progressive alternatives that will allow it to align with the RSPO principles without compromising its financial stability.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Estrategias de innovación para la sostenibilidad económica de empresas sociales de arquitectura en Antioquia(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-10-16) Borja Garcia, Samir; Cueto Cifuentes, Eduardo Nicolas; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=WnQLGoUAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2125-6828This research addresses the challenge faced by social enterprises in the architecture sector in Antioquia in achieving economic sustainability. The problem identified using the Vester matrix method lies in the low integration of innovative and sustainable practices due to a lack of knowledge and appropriate tools. The objective was to propose strategies to strengthen their financial viability, based on innovation and the use of emerging technologies. The methodology employed utilizes a mixed approach and a descriptive scope, combining documentary analysis, the application of models such as the Social Lean Canvas, commonly used in the formulation of business plans, and experimentation with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for idea generation and financial statement analysis. Likewise, to obtain primary information, two types of surveys were conducted among populations of students and entrepreneurs in the architecture sector. The study included a theoretical review of approaches such as social capital theory, disruptive innovation, and systemic theory, complemented by a practical case study applied to the organization TECHO. It is evident that through AI and the use of collaborative business models, strategic planning and decision-making are improved. Many social enterprises rely excessively on donations or market "goodwill," presenting low operating margins and lacking diversified financial strategies. Among the main conclusions, it is confirmed that technological innovation, digitalization, and the adoption of modern financial tools are very important for sustainability. Furthermore, training in finance and business management is a critical gap for architecture students and entrepreneurs in the sector. The recommendations promote the implementation of alternative sources of financing such as crowdfunding and P2P lending, optimizing costs through automation, strengthening strategic alliances, integrating AI with traditional business plan structuring tools for financial analysis, and designing academic programs that combine architecture with business management. This study will contribute to the understanding of how innovation, combined with technological tools and financial strategies, can ensure the economic sustainability of social enterprises, promoting the development of resilient and scalable models in the architecture sector.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Análisis estratégico de la percepción de los clientes sobre la digitalización de los procesos bancarios en Scotiabank Colpatria.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-10-15) Ossa Herrera, Kelly Johana; Cueto Fuentes, Eduardo Nicolás; Álvarez Rojas, Vladímir; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000860930; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0000018939; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002217902; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=WnQLGoUAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2125-6828; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3731-6845; https://orcid.org/0009-0008-1269-2362This research analyzes Scotiabank Colpatria customers’ perceptions regarding the digitalization of banking processes, within a context where digital transformation has become a strategic axis for the competitiveness of the financial sector. Through the application of surveys, the main factors influencing the acceptance and use of digital platforms were identified, such as knowledge level, trust, accessibility, age, gender, and income. Findings reveal that although more than 55% of customers perceive banking applications as functional and useful, 35% express dissatisfaction, highlighting the need to strengthen usability and guidance aspects. Likewise, 48.1% of respondents reported a low level of knowledge in managing banking applications, confirming the existence of an internal digital divide, particularly among users over 42 years old and those with lower income levels. The analysis of sociodemographic variables showed significant differences in digital adoption: while younger customers and women display greater readiness and knowledge, older adults and low-income clients demand more support and training. These findings validate theoretical models such as TAM and UTAUT, which emphasize perceived usefulness and facilitating conditions as determinants of technological acceptance. In conclusion, the study highlights the importance of differentiated strategies that integrate technological innovation, digital education, and accessibility, ensuring that banking digitalization becomes inclusive, trustworthy, and sustainable.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , La Inteligencia Artificial como Desafío Ético para el Sector Empresarial: análisis exploratorio de dos organizaciones de colombianas(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-09-16) Algecira Arbelaez, Cristian David; Infante Moreno, Carlos OrlandoCurrently, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a key tool for companies in adapting to the new digital era and the challenges emerging from market dynamics. Inflation, the economic recession, high consumer expectations, and accelerated growth in new technologies are among the most relevant factors to address in the business world. Specifically, the use of AI is seen as an efficient technological resource for providing a more market-leading line of products and services, as well as for implementing financial programs tailored to the needs of each company. However, it is necessary to understand and analyze the ethical challenges involved in its use. In this sense, the general objective of this article is to analyze the impact of Artificial Intelligence as an ethical challenge for the business sector by analyzing two Colombian organizations out of the 26 that are part of the initiative called Marca Colombia TI, Research that is developed through two specific objectives, first, to identify the main ethical conflicts faced by the business sector in Colombia with the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in decision-making and second, to analyze how the business sector manages and perceives the ethical risks associated with the use of AI in its processes. An exploratory qualitative method will be applied to preliminarily investigate the ethical challenges associated with the use of AI in the Colombian business sector by analyzing two organizations that are part of the "Marca TIC Colombia" initiative (Hernández & Baptista, 2014). It was concluded that the most notable emerging barriers to ethical use of AI in companies are the lack of governance, limited transparency and data protection, and biases. The alternative to overcome these obstacles lies in the creation of clear policies and training for human talent personnel.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Gestión sostenible para la disposición final del casetón de icopor: un enfoque basado en la economía circular.(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-09-09) Cortés Forero, Luz dary; Carreño León, Diana paola; Suárez Pienda, Luri; Universidad Santo TomasThe expanded polystyrene (EPS) slab, widely used in construction for its light weight and good thermal insulation properties, poses an environmental challenge due to its resistance to decomposition and improper waste management. This study proposes sustainable management strategies based on the circular economy to improve the final disposal of this material. Through a qualitative methodology that included document review, interviews, and direct observation, the case of three companies in the region was analyzed. The results reveal regulatory, technical, and logistical shortcomings in the current management of EPS waste, and highlight the need to implement models such as cleaner production and reverse logistics. Strategies are proposed around prevention, reuse, and recovery of EPS, including the use of biodegradable alternative materials, a rental-return model for the slabs, and physical and chemical recycling techniques.Tipo de ítem: Ítem , Estrategias de Responsabilidad Social Empresarial en el proceso de selección de proveedores en la cadena de abastecimiento de las grandes empresas privadas de Colombia(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2025-08-22) Flórez Villamizar, Viany Yesenia; Urueña Rivera, Edna Liliana; Ladino Ladino, Jenny Paola; Bracho Colina, Erimar CarolinaThis research explores the integration of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategies into the supplier selection process within the supply chains of Colombia’s leading private companies, specifically Ecopetrol, Terpel, and EPM.
