Artificial intelligence, or AI, has become a key tool in modern banking. Thanks to it, banks can make their processes more efficient, make better decisions, and offer customers more personalized experiences. In this article, we aim to explore how AI is impacting banking in Latin America. We will analyze its main uses, the benefits it brings, and the challenges it faces. To do so, we reviewed different studies, reports, and documents published between 2018 and 2024, consulting databases such as ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, SpringerLink, IEEE Xplore, and Scielo. What we found is that many institutions are using technologies such as machine learning, chatbots, fraud detection, and task automation. Among the main benefits are that banks operate faster and at lower costs, in addition to improving security. However, there are also significant obstacles, such as the lack of clear regulation, ethical risks, digital exclusion, and resistance within organizations. This study seeks to contribute to the conversation on how AI can play a strategic role in the Latin American financial system, emphasizing that its adoption must be ethical, inclusive, and sustainable.

The competitiveness of land freight transportation plays a fundamental role in the competitiveness of a country, since it has a direct impact on the logistics costs of the companies that manufacture and/or commercialize products, therefore, measuring and controlling the variables that influence the operating costs of the sector is the responsibility of both the transportation companies and the Colombian government. In this document an analysis of the costs that impact transportation in Colombia and how these figures are placed in the Latin American context is carried out, in order to show the main difficulties and incidences of low productivity. Based on these opportunities for improvement with respect to other countries in the region, suggest strategies to be implemented at different levels, in order to make the sector much more competitive. The Colombian state should encourage the sector and promote competitiveness, making greater investment in the variables that influence cost reduction, such as; expansion of road infrastructure, fleet renewal, generation of soft loans and policies that promote investment in this area. Without leaving aside that the companies and/or small transporters must also do their bit, generating strategies to control internal costs that depend on the operation, such as productivity per freight, fuel consumption of their vehicles, operating and administrative personnel costs, maintenance strategies, among others, i.e. companies must evolve their practices to increase the competitiveness of the sector and therefore of the country.
