This article explores the impact of the implementation of a school garden at the Cairo Institution, focusing on three key areas: transmission of ancestral knowledge, strengthening of cultural identity and improvement of meaningful learning. Using a qualitative approach based on analyzing observation and field diaries, we documented how the school garden facilitated the transmission of traditional agricultural practices, the use of medicinal plants and seed conservation techniques. The results show a high degree of appropriation of knowledge by the students, an active community participation that strengthened cultural identity and a significant improvement in academic performance and practical skills. At the same time, the relevance of rescuing and preserving the indigenous traditions of Perijá and the Sierra Nevada is highlighted, valuing cultural richness and ancestral knowledge as essential elements for community and educational development. These findings underscore the effectiveness of school gardens as integral educational tools in rural contexts, and the importance of integrating indigenous traditions into education to strengthen cultural identity and promote meaningful learning.

Descubriendo Nuestro Legado: una Cartilla Etnobotánica Sobre el Uso Tradicional de Plantas Medicinales en el Barrio Jardín de Curiaco, Taminango, Nariño
(Universidad Santo Tomás, 2024) Daza Bolaños, Eduin de Jesus; Martinez Prieto, Manuel Alejandro; Universidad Santo Tomás; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0001522574; https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/cvlac/visualizador/generarCurriculoCv.do?cod_rh=0002080179
The traditional use of medicinal plants is important for its cultural value, its role in access to health, its contribution to environmental sustainability, its complementarity with modern medicine, its personalization of health care and its ability to promote autonomy. of people and communities. Portères (1970), cited by Hidalgo (2016), recognizes the importance and incidence of ethnobotany; This is characterized by being one of the disciplines that aims to study plants and human cultures (Hidalgo, 2016). Likewise, its study is based on empirical knowledge of different population groups and their therapeutic use (Zurita M. G., 2016). Said like this, medicinal plants are a very important resource for all humanity, this resource of natural origin and little explored by man has provided millions of benefits. Since prehistory they have been used to relieve pain caused by any type of accident. Medicinal plants are used mostly through infusions, waters, ointments, baths, etc. (Zurita M. E., 2017). It is important to highlight the little information that the residents of the ancestral community in the Jardín neighborhood of the Curiaco district have, regarding the properties and functions of medicinal plants. The objective of this research is to design an ethnobotanical primer as a learning strategy that allows the community to learn a little more about the plants used, within their environment. This research will be done through a mixed study with an ethnographic and descriptive approach. As a result of the research carried out, very valuable information will be collected. Regarding the topic of interest, it should be noted that the plants most used by this community are oregano, aloe vera, paico, chamomile, eldermint, pennyroyal, lemon balm, and calendula. In data collection, the participants involved will be 57 inhabitants between 30, 50, 70 and 80 years old, among which 10 members are the student population under 18 years old

Implementación de una Estrategia Pedagógica para la Prevención del Contagio del Dengue a través de una Unidad Didáctica, a los Estudiantes del Grado Sexto de Bachillerato de la Institución Educativa de Yati.

Dengue has become one of the world's deadly diseases due to lack of prevention. This disease has no vaccine. The lack of education of the population is the central axis of the proliferation of the dengue transmitting vector called the mosquito (Aedes aegypti). Many studies carried out reach the same conclusion: dengue reaches the community because it is not prevented. Vesga-Gómez, et al., (2010). Therefore, “Dengue is the main mosquito-borne viral disease worldwide, infecting millions of people each year. As there is no specific treatment for the infection, vigorous care and support is required, and vector control and personal protection are required. to reduce mosquito bites as a preventive measure.” Hernández, L. B. A., et al., (2023). Furthermore, “The current panorama of dengue has been influenced by a causality model of infectious diseases, where the environment, the agent and the host are in a close relationship that ultimately leads to the development of the disease.” Collazos Vera, D. X., et al., (2017). However, in Colombia, this disease is characterized as an epidemic, since the country has about 90% of its geographical areas conducive to the survival of the vector (Aedes Aegypti) and to a lesser extent it (Aedes Albopictus). For this reason, health entities in the country and around the world have had to develop surveillance and control programs for this disease in order to try to reduce the number of people affected by the virus. Thesis in which a technologically structured pedagogical strategy is implemented accompanied by the practice emphasized in How to generate an educational, enriching, effective, didactic experience supported by ICTs that strengthens the teaching and learning of natural sciences in boys and girls who are in the fourth grade of primary school at the Metropolitan School of the South of Floridablanca, Santander? offering at the same time a quality and innovative teaching to promote their scientific capacities. The challenge when relying on these innovations is to propose strategies that allow the creation of experiences where natural sciences can be worked on and provide students with a different vision of the phenomena that occur both in the world and in their environment. By adapting teaching to students' learning styles, an environment is created in which they can explore and understand these phenomena in a more effective and engaging way. This not only enriches their understanding, but can also spark a lasting interest in science and exploration, which is valuable for their personal and educational growth.

The general objective of this research was to analyze the influence of the teaching of natural sciences on biodiversity and the urban ecosystem where the fifth-grade students of the San Juan Bautista de la Salle School in the municipality of Sincé live or work. Taking as a reference the contributions made by different researchers and/or writers on urban biodiversity and the impact of natural sciences in the teaching of these topics. The methodology approached in this research was centered on the qualitative paradigm and the survey was used as a technique for collecting information, applied to three groups of the fifth grade of the school in question. From these it can be observed that the students show little mastery of the topics addressed in the survey, that they do not appropriate the concepts of biodiversity nor the relationship that this has with the subject of natural sciences. With the above, it is evident that, despite the fact that there is a good teaching of natural sciences on the indicated topic, the students do not show interest in the subject, in addition, it is important that both the administrative entity and the rest of the inhabitants participate adequately in this process.

Risk management from an educational perspective should not only focus on the identification of factors that affect dangers or disasters and on communities assuming that they are matters of technical interest or of expert personnel. Rather, the current dynamism demands that societies be empowered and join the discussions regarding socio-environmental issues within the framework of climate change phenomena and anthropogenic activities, the latter being the main causes of disasters in the different landscapes of the biosphere. In this order of ideas, this article illustrates an investigative process that was carried out in the city of Sincelejo Sucre and in which a focus of problematization was detected that has not been solved for decades called the Takasaluma Building, a structure located in the central area of the municipality in question and which has been the subject of much criticism from the community that coexists with the structure, passers-by and the local press, which merited a process of inquiry from the academy, under a mixed research methodology focused on the DITRIAC ( Concurrent Triangulation Design) that allowed, based on the objectives set, to collect quantitative and qualitative information, which was finally compared through a Triangulation Matrix and therefore, to propose some recommendations from the voices of the participating subjects, the bibliographic search and the perspective of the participating researcher.
